<p>Just a reminder to all. Change your passwords regularly. I'd left mine for a long time and this morning couldn't log in. I called accounts to find that the account had been changed. Luckily I had all the information needed to get it back, but it could have been bad if I hadn't. The servers are still down so I can't check my characters yet and luckily I'd played til 3am so there wasn't much time in between to mess with the account much. I just want to warn people that it's still happening and to get the passwords changed/updated regularly.</p><p>Good luck,</p><p>Dharya</p>

<p>Greetings,</p><p>Besides changing your password, there are a few other things I would recommend:</p><p>-Use different passwords when logging into other sites. </p><p>-Keep your e-mail especially secure and don't use sites like yahoo as the e-mail linked to your account</p><p>-Scan your computer for spyware/trojans regularly and avoid using internet explorer for most web surfing</p><p>-Do not use a secret answer with a limited number of answers.</p><p>That last one is really important.  If you have a secret answer such as 'What color are your eyes' or 'What sign of the zodiac are you' then contact us and we'll get it changed for you.  I can't tell you how many people have 'What color are your eyes?' and 'blue' on their accounts.  If you have a question like that then a farmer will be able to get into your account if they get access to your e-mail. </p><p>Let me know if you have any questions or want any suggestions.</p>

I'm probably going to feel stupid later for asking this, but I really don't know...why should you not use a yahoo email for your account? I'm curious, because I do have one of my accounts linked to yahoo...the other is hotmail...is that bad too?

I'm curious, because I do have one of my accounts linked to yahoo...the other is hotmail...is that bad too?</blockquote><p>I wouldn't recommend using either.  The problem with those is that they are web based so they can be accessed outside of your network and the security systems are pretty bad.  Click on the 'forgot password' button instead of logging into your account and it will ask you for the answers to your secret question(s).  Now ask yourself how many random people can get the information necessary to answer them just from talking with you or being your friend on facebook/myspace/etc.  That assumes someone doesn't just break into another website you frequent where you used that e-mail address and the same secret question(s).</p><p>If you keep everything else the same across all of your online accounts then I would advise at least using a different e-mails/secret answers on really important things like online banking and game accounts.  Online security is always a constant battle, but a few basic steps will drastically increase the security of your most important things.</p>
