Missing all characters...HELP......HELP

<p><span style="font-size: small;">Hello</span></p><p><span style="font-size: small;">My computer died a few days ago and hubby built me a new one.  I installed EQ2 yesterday this morning I ran the updates and the loader and all my characters are gone and it says that I need to create a new character.  Please please please help.  </span></p><p><span style="font-size: small;">Thank you</span></p>

<p>Could be one of two things.</p><p>1) On first run after an install, it will ask you about new account or use existing - make sure you select(ed) existing</p><p>2) There was a patch this morning, and if you log in while the servers are offline, it doesn't always show your characters correctly - it is done from cache I believe, and if it is a new install and first login, there might not be a character cache.</p><p>I'd say give it another 20-30 minutes to get the servers back up, and if they are still gone when you can successfully get a character on your server, then worry. Otherwise, I'd bet they are still there.</p>

<p>Okay one of my characters is back, but it is an alt that I very rarely play.  My main characters are all still missing includeing my mythical level 80. </p>

<p>As explained, the servers are currently having a downtime..  If you are still missing them after the servers are up, then post back <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" /></p><p>Also, be sure that you have the correct Client installed.  On the I Accept/I decline screen, be sure that it is on English US.</p>
