First time playing EQ2.. i got my lvl 12 earth pet and the footstep noises are so annoying i want to rip my hair out. It's such a rapid thud! I dont want to disable footsteps (if you can) so is there a way around this?

Get to level 20 and 24 when you get new pets.

So conjurors need to play without sound from 12-20? =( I like the class but what was sony thinking? I dont see a volume slider for foot steps, but maybe i can turn the foot step distance all the way down till then.. that should turn them off, no?

I don't know if it will mute the pet foot steps or not.

Fortunately the teen levels go by very rapidly.

Well, I suppose you could invest in enough pet illusion things on the Marketplace to morph your pet into something else. Theoretically that would do it.

Otherwise, like stated above, just deal with it. Shouldn't take you long to outlevel it.

I feel for you. The pets and their noise actually kept me from choosing magician in EQ2. One of my two highest level characters in EQ was a magician and I loved her. To be honest, I liked her pets the best when they were elemental blobs of different colors depending on their type. For me 12 to 20 could take a very long time, particularly if I'm coordinating leveling with other people.

I'll be interested in hearing any additional solutions.

in your sound options you can turn off 3d environment effects. That stops some of the environmental sounds including that annoying lvl 12 earth pet. It will leave other sounds.

Not a great option but better then no sound at all.
