Foreword: Guard, now lvl 90, 206AA, Mixture of T3 and T4 gear.

I'm very happy with my current level of performance in groups. I've found myself in a couple of groups now with Warlocks and Swashies and with the pitiful damage output of mobs in The Hole and easier instances any self respecting tank has to be doing multi-pulls minimum and room pulls for preference. I was in groups like:

Guard, Illusionist, Swashy, Swashy, Monk, Mystic or

Guard, Illusionist, Ranger, Warlock, Mystic, Troubador or

Guard, Illusionist, Ranger, Monk, Defiler, Defiler.

Indeed it's been quite some time now since I've had either a coercer OR a dirge in my instance groups, not because I don't want them but just because groups are first come-first served at current difficulty levels.

Despite all that, in groups and situations that would probably have made me put out my eyeballs in TSO (Think Cavern of the Afflicted as a Guard with those groups, that would mean a dead warlock a lot), I have found myself to be enjoying the experience immensely. I've been able to respec into a fully aoe heroic spec, with currently no points in melee crit on the warrior tree at all (still at 110% crit self buffed however, along with 100% DA) and am currently capable of throwing out 6-7k dps on multiple encounter room pulls, which is more than enough to hold aggro off the real aoe classes with sufficient reliability that such groups are now not a chore.

I am, I have to say, completely unconcerned with any allogations of other classes being "OP"; as my character is capable of fulfilling his role to an extent I deem satisfactory I'll reserve judgement for the time being.

A lot of my guildies have complained about The Hole being a bit boring but I find it fantastic fun. I'm no longer shackled by the dev's expectations of how something should be done and can instead focus entirely on doing everything the way I find most enjoyable.

Does anyone else feel that capping crit/DA is really a rather trivial matter now?

My zerk is 89 with 214 AA and im room pulling and parsing 17-18k in non-optimal groups. The new SF AA lines in my tank spec increase my hate by 10k every time I get hit (reversal/upgraded reversal), and adrenaline adds hate too. I also get a ward now when I go berserk, so that helps survivability, albeit not a lot. My 'kill' spec pumps up my accuracy for increased hit rates and my reuse speeds are maxed, along with the warrior endline ability to grant a 75% strikethrough. All in all, I like some of the changes--especially for warriors. I had an assassin and a wizzy doing their best to rip hate from me and it was almost impossible--zerks are fully tank worthy options now IMO.

Agree with Randomaxe at lvl 83 Zerk with 209aa (yes taking my time to savour the content on the 1st toon i lvl to 90) i'm finding agro not so much an issue room pulling in conservatory with orange con mobs and having shield equiped. Group setup is generally Inquis, Dirge, Coercer, Wiz and either a Bruiser, Brig or swash. Ok i have lots of hate buffs and transfers there also but the wiz is not holding back and i'm one of the lowest levels in the group. Currently have max hate from reversal and 1 point in reuse (probably one of the few that didn't use the free reset to squeeze points from other areas) Not so sure about Zerk lines as none of them look overly inspiring but once i get end warrior ability will look to try a couple different setups and see how it goes.

Thanks for the replies. I haven't taken my zerker and sk off the bench yet since I have been leveling my swash. I have played my bruiser some but not enough to get a feel for him yet. Still nice to see some positive notes for the zerker.

I think my bruiser will see improvements but I am still hearing that sk's are dpsing demons. Time will tell.

Berserker is great ... for The Hole. Started soloing there at 86 in a mix of mutagenic burst and T3/T4 gear without a shield. Probably could have started much sooner. Doesn't mean jack when stuff really hits the fan, which doesn't ever happen in The Hole and hasn't yet happened in any of the instances I've done; the only wipes have come when healer died from AoEs or spilled a drink on his keyboard.

Interestingly enough, with max points in the ward AA, the old self-buff Blood Rage is consistently healing me for considerable more than the ward. Almost 2:1. The reactive heal is great when soloing. I've used it a lot in groups and it never winds up doing anything ... unless the healer spills a drink on his keyboard.

Berserkers didn't have any issues in heroic content before this anyway though. The only thing that changed so far is that I can solo better and help compensate for PUG-quality healing. I don't think much else has changed.

I've not really spent any time optomizing gear yet, as its just been such easymode so far I haven't felt I needed to take the time.

OK.

I have to post this because noone has replied for the SK.

My lvl 90Sk with 210aa ROCKS!!!!

i got an AA mirror so i can have a PvP set up for my AA and a PvE set up.

PvE AA (aimed at survivability and threat managment)/ PvE Gear:

+ i run around with lvl 90 instance droped and a few token pieces and have found mobs to be cake walks. VD3 aka cella (the zone for the dragon blood in the Epic repercussions quest) seems to be a strugle with others and with my sk i am walking all over the mobs. the hardest past is the strat. went to WoE and was pulling whole rooms with names and all. easy. where as a avatar wearing wizzy would normally steal agroo with his/her parses i now have no trouble getting and keeping agroo from any class (even a gaurd loses it to my sk)

- soloing mobs seems to be harder though. like the qeynos city gards at 95^^^ i can solo 2-3 at a time no problem yet the 85^^^ named in the bone cave in sundering frontier just wipe me all over the place.

PvP AA (Aimed at nothing but DPS) / BG Gear:

+ i don't yet have a full set of BG gear but one SK from Nag who did was able to solo an entire 24 man raid force at thier spawn point. none could escape. with my 4 piece set i am still a magor threat. for most instances in PvE situations the mobs are burnt down before they can even think about dealling damage. of course this is with a troub and wiz and assassin, an inquisitor and coercer. in research labs a group member had me take a screen shoot of a parse of mine where i did 16,000+ DPS on a 4 mob grp. the 10 lvls and new gear made me insane!!!

- if a mob crits me then its game over. my crit mit % is at about 5.7%.

Ok since the last post i had a change of heart and decided to lvl my Pally. He's lvl 85 with 211aa's and is coping pretty well in the hole open, library and conservatory.

Decided to spec for STR, STA, trample in AGI and a few points in the attack in INT. I've got max points in the SF agi line for encounter taunt and it has to be said threat is not a problem. Due to our healer being afk we decided to go to library last night and get the Epic update and clear some trash till he arrived. Looks like a Pally in tso pvp gear with a dirge, bruiser and 2 necro's can clear to the 2nd to last named without a specialist healer Unfortunatly he came back at that point so we wrapped up the instance quick. I can see that zone being a soloable instance in a few lvl's and with some SF raid gear.

The next stage is to crank out some lvl's and hit up the harder instances and see how the end aa's are working as i respeced after library to get end crusader ability and remove the stun/stiffle off of the death prevent.

After playing zerk to 83 and then switching to Pally i instantly noticed a dps drop (as i would expect) but Pally survivability still feels much stronger over my zerk.
