I've been a Brigand since launch in 2004 and i've never had the need to post on the forums because i generally believe in the decisions of our devs, but i've found something that just doesn't make one shred of sense to me. While leveling through SF i hit 85 and decided on Murderous Rake as my Grandmaster CA because he mitigation debuff increases. What i didn't look at is the damage of the new Grandmaster versus the damage of the previous level's master. When i finally notied it i was shocked to see that the new Grandmaster does LESS damage than the old master. I promptly petitioned because this had to be a mistake and continued to level. I then commissioned someone to mae me an expert Dispatch hoping it would replace my current master Dispatch. Once i got the Expert i immediately went to the research assistant and started research on a master version. What i noticed is that the new dispatch master(lvl 3) also does less damage than the previous level dispatch master(lvl 2), by almost 200 points! Now i understand that a new expert should be inline with a previous master, but i am absolutely SHOCKED to see that we actually lose damage on some of our CAs by upgrading to a new tier. Would somone please shine some light on this issue? Preferably a dev or someone that understands why anyone cul think this is a fair continuation to these skills. Thanks for reading and i hope more brigands take an interest so that we can have this travesty to our class changed promptly.

Short version - Our best CAs at master lvl do less damage than previous tier masters. Completely F&%*$D up.

This is quite a problem.... Maybe it's a bug and the shard armor shoulder's base CA increase isn't working on the new CAs. Just an idea that would make me feel much better about the whole thing if it were true.

This is most likely due to the mythical effect of 30% bonus to all rear combat arts. I really hope the Epic Repercussions version will work on T9 skills, but currently Brigand mythical is set to only buff the T8 versions.

I have the same situation, and I think Brigands experience an awful choice: you can upgrade your CAs to expert so that double up works (it uses the T9 version for the doubled part... even if it's app1) but lose the 30% bonus from mythical to those combat arts, or you can use the old masters and double up will go 10k/3k due to master/ app 1 combo.

Even better, if you stick with the old masters and double up, the doubled up app1 version (or any version) will prevent you from reapplying the CA until the duration is gone. Which, is just awesome with Tenure.

At this point, the only way to possibly fix the problem is to get Epic Repercussions done. I can't say for certain it works, as I haven't had a Vasty Deep VC group available yet to finish, but guildmates said their epic effects that improved spells and CA's are now applying to T9 using the new quest version.

The damage difference is due to the mythical not affecting t9 spells (this is the case for all classes). Just to the upgrade quest and the bonus will apply to the new t9 versions.(the quest rewards you with a new weapon, lvl 80, same damage rating as the mythical with the same blue and green stats, as well as a buff which grants the extra bonuses of the mythical: the damage/DA proc and the damage bonus to rear attacks).

However, you still will see that t8 m1 debilitate does a lot more damage than the t9 version yet if you have TSO set bonus increasing the damage of that CA by a lot as well. However, in raiding you will be able to get a Red slot adornment granting this same bonus which will affect the t9 debilitate as well once more.

I did the Epic Repercussions quest.

The Tier 9 Dispatched Adept III now does noticeably more damage and debuffs more than Tier 8 Dispatched Master I.

The quest is pretty easy.

You get the epic weapon with the same DR as the myth and a L80 buff to cast. I guess the only problem there is the buff could be dispelled in certain encounters.

We did the first easy raid zone and a weapon better than the old mythical (at least for DR and damage spread) dropped off one of the nameds there (it had potency and crit bonus). So probably won't be long before the old myth just becomes a decoration in your inn room.
