The Master 1 version at t8 warded for 380 and mitigated against 1072 physical damage while the T9 Master 2 version only wards for 270 while mitigating against 1255. Even with the AA to increase the base ward we seem to be looking at a strange rebalancing.

And the AA doesn't increase the T8 version either, last I checked. It seems like a bug, but I /bugged it in beta and on live and it's still like this. :/

I think they did the same thing to Torpor. T9 now wards less than T8, but the HoT heals for more.

Figured out at least part of the problem today.

For those who find the T9 ward weaker than the T8: It might be because you haven't converted your mythical to a buff yet. The 30% wisdom added to wards does apply to Runic Armor, but the old mythicals don't affect the new spells until they're converted.

The problem: There's a cap on how high Runic Armor can go, via either the new AA or the mythical, and the mythical alone is enough to reach it. So the AA does nothing for any version of Runic Armor that is affected by the mythical.

Yeah need new mythical spell to affect the t9 spells. With regards to the AA, I think everyone knows it doesn't work. Hoping sony will fix it one day.

There is a cap that is easily reached, and you reach that cap without the AA.

Spend the points elsewhere.

Umm yes it is broken lol. They should have realized that most people will have their mythicals/mythical spells. Soon as you have it the ward is capped. There was no point in them making this AA.

Broken means it flat out doesn't work, mechanically. It does work mechanically. That doesn't make it a good AA, a worthwhile AA. In fact, it's a completely useless AA, and I certainly don't recommend anyone taking it.

But it's not broken.

I would love to see them change it to Potency instead of Ability Modifier, but honestly I don't expect it and definitely not within the next few months.

I've heard rumours that on Test things might have changed regarding Runic Armor. Anyone confirm?

Oh, it's changed. Whether it makes it to live in it's current state is another story altogether. It's pretty strong.

Holymoly@Runnyeye wrote:

I've heard rumours that on Test things might have changed regarding Runic Armor.
What! what? Bolster??

What effect would that have on Runic Armor?

Burned 5 aas into it and my regenerative ward is still at 482.

I m very upset, next aa respec is 1plat.

It's only on test for now. Will go live (unless it gets nerfed) with GU56.

Hmm just checked this out with my mystic on test and from what I'm seeing the myth buff is no longer applying to it. I'm sitting at a 751 ward for runic armor, a 851 ward with ritual (+36% potency). I'm at 59% potency unbuffed and 1610 wisdom, but of course the wisdom doesn't matter since my myth buff isn't changing it. I've taken the myth buff on and off, recasted with it off and on and it doesn't change the amount of the ward. Also this is with all 5 AAs into it. Without the 5 AAs, it's sitting at a 471 ward (572 ward with ritual), so infact it's actually a nerf without the AAs. I know on live I'm at the 544 cap with just the myth buff. So it definately seems like something has been changed.

Not sure how I feel about this change... I mean in the end it is extra wardage, by about 200, but also means I have to find 5 AAs for it. Also I will say I was really excited for a new 1k-1.5k runic armor.

-Korack the Ogre Shaman

Since when did Ritual affect Wards? I suppose I haven't really tried it recently, but I don't recall reading a change about Ritual applying to Wards . . .

Just checked ...And yes, the myth buff doesn't affect Runic Armor anymore.

About Ritual. It seems to affect wards on live as well. No idea when they changed that.

I would guess it's been that way since SF went live. They probably re-coded Ritual to be a simple "Potency" buff for the next thing you cast. I wonder if it works on damage . . . Ritual + Stampede . . . hmmmm.

Could someone on test server take a quick look to be sure our Myth / buff is still working the way it does on live? Devs did a stealth nerf to Furies, and I want to be sure that the same wasn't done to us.

I went on there again today Bandit. Our mythical is working diff. From what I saw it is only affecting our 2 regular and 2 emergency wards, but nothing else. It seems to be counting as ability mod now. Runic Armor and Torpor wards are unaffected. It does add to the initial heal on torpor, but thats about it.

It was designed to only work on Wards, so that part is not surprising. Runic Armor and Torpor, well, I'm not so concerned about.

However . . .

Changing our Myth to be Ability Mod instead of Potency is a HUGE nerf.

Can anyone else confirm?

I hate that I ****No Longer See Any Benefit From This Spell**** on any ward spells other than group ward and oberon. I think this was a devistating 'nerf' to the buff, making it almost completely useless, by totally destroying its effectiveness on 3 of the top 4 most important warding spells

If we could, let's move all discussion on the nerf to this thread, which I'll be PM'ing to various Devs next week to make sure it gets noticed. Let's also use /feedback in game, both on live servers and test server, to bring the visibility of this issue up.

Thanks.

Ritual used to affect my runic armor, not anymore. As far as i remember the value would change back to normal upon zoning.

The converted myth does not works either.
