Hi, i have some problems and i just want to let you know and see if theres any help you can offer me.

Ok so i started playing EQ2 with my brother a few weeks ago. We started on the trial and during installation we made a slight mistake witch was to be the start of a joke if im honest, When lauching the game the defualt language was English/American. We didnt take any notice of this and had no idea this would determain the what region of servers you would start on.

Me and my brother, being English thought this would be ok as most other games like to steal our language and put other flags next to it, no biggie. Once we have created our chars and got settled in we noticed we had started on USA realms and we realised why there was no groups going because all the Americans are asleep, and why the servers keep coming down during our prime playing hours. I dont know about you but to us this is a major problem so we needed to do somthing about it.

We tried to contact customer services, ideally we wanted to speak to a GM but couldnt figure out how and think there is no such thing, if there is you might want to make it a bit more obvious. So we had to e-mail sombody about this and we asked very nicely for a transfer from our current USA realm to any EU realm. As this was a silly mistake and witch we dont feel was our fault becuase of the way the game was layed out and nothing was there to warn us this little button will decide our destiny. No matter how nice we asked the guy we was speaking to, he really did not want to help. He told us we could change the language befor you login which would change the region of servers which was also wrong. Infact you need to go to the options after you longin to change the region.

The guy told us we must buy station points in order to use transfer services. So as my brother read that comment first he went and bought £20 worth of stationpoints for the transfer just to find out he cant even transfer anyway because his account isnt old enough. Thank you mr GM. The GM offered to do a manual transfer at a fee of $25. So we had no option but to take him up on this offer, he has taken £40 out of my brothers bank account and only transfered my brothers char, this was on friday so we have split up for a few days now.

As my brother is a computer geek and works in the industry also in customer services he didnt feel the representitive was doing his job properly so he asked for him to escilate the ticket witch he did not do or even ask for a 2nd opinion.

In conclution it has cost my brother £60 to transfer 2 char's witch he shouldnt have even needed to do anyway and the GM has only done half the job! [Removed for Content].

Any response from a customer care rep woulod be great, we have a ticket referance number if needed. Thanks in advance.

Hmmmm... That does not sound very good at all. I can not really help you in this since I am only a Mod, but I moved it to the proper place for your post.

I know that transfers do cost money. However, you are allowed up to 7 characters per client on a normal subscription. You and your brother could have started over (if you had wanted to) on the EU servers easily enough and still had all your character slots for the EU client. Sadly, the CS is not really operating on the weekends, so it may take a day or so to get back with you.

[TECH] Contacting Support

Greetings,

While I wasn't directly involved in the ticket you're referring to, I'm aware of it. According to the information I received, we tried to perform the other transfer you requested at the time you contacted us but that character had items on the broker. That automatically stops the transfer process so we had to ask that they be removed. We then received your response that the items had been removed after we were already closed on Friday night. That transfer team isn't here over weekends but they performed the transfer immediately after arriving this morning. Sadly, we do not have the authority to offer free transfers.

I can understand your frustration, but I wanted to explain why the issue progressed as it did. Let me know if you have any questions.
