Just doing a quick Google search on the error you are getting (always my first step in troubleshooting) seems to indicate your problem may be a bad C++ install. I don't have time to run with it any further than that though.

For future reference, if you need help and advice from here your really need to provide more basic information, like what kind of computer you are running, your OS, basic configuration (internet connection, router, firewall, etc). There is a post here (http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=353617) that describes what to include in a request for help. Otherwise folks are just shooting in the dark or from the hip, like me.

Anyway, hope my hint helps you. Good luck in tracking it down.

Do you run AVG as your virus scanner?....techguys.org says something about doing the following...

I uninstalled AVG first (not sure if really necessary)

Here's what I did to fix this side-by-side configuration error. Go to http://support.microsoft.com/defaul....b;en-us;290301 and download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility. Install the utility Run it via the Start menu, should list itself as above. A list of installed programs should appear. Search out the C++ redistributable entry, and click on the button to uninstall it.

Reboot

Reinstall the VC++ redistributable package.

Reboot

Then try again , if it works , re-install AVG...

That was not my intention; however, I was pressed for time and I thought I could at least give you a direction to investigate. That said, it really is usually very important to include as much information as you can in your request for assistance because it may make a huge difference in the quality of responses and their accuracy. For instance, in your response to me you indicate your OS is Vista 32. This bit of information (not included in your first post), probably irrelevant in this case, is often essential to know in order to unravel some issues.

In your case, had you simply copied the error you got into your Google search box (or whatever search engine you use) the very first search result would have been the one from techguys.org which wullailduo just quoted from. I suppose I should have copied the information and pasted it in my response as he did but, again, I was pressed for time last night and assumed you would do as I suggested and find it handily.

There is no shame in being computer illiterate. We are all ignorant of many things. That said, just as you would not ask a doctor to diagnose illness without some basic information about symptoms, neither can computer nerds tell you what the problem is without some background information on the system itself. The post I linked actually goes into a lot of detail in how to find and post the information generally needed, which is why I linked it. Just do the best you can.

This issue is almost certainly in your computer and fixable at your end by doing the steps listed at techguys.org properly.
