Oasis is having the same problem it was having on the night of the 16th, where toons zoning are either getting hung up Receiving zone info and/or getting kicked back to the character select sreen (where there's only a partial list of characers, and it says "Oasis Server (DOWN)" in great big red lettering next to thie names).

Related problems are also detailed in the following two threads:

http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=470435

http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=470425

Can we PLEASE get this problem fixed???

This is getting insane.

This is the fifth consecutive day that we on Oasis are having serious problems zoning, switching characters, and completing broker transactions, etc.

It's taken me an average of 20 minutes to switch characters today because I keep getting kicked to a character select screen where more than half my characters are gone, and there's an "Oasis server (DOWN)" message in red lettering next to the names of those that remain.

I'm having to exit the game and log back in several times an hour.

Broker transactions are taking between 5 and 7 MINUTES to conclude.

Zoning into instances and overland zones alike is a nightmare because the screen hangs on "Receiving zone info" for 5+ minutes, and often permanantly, until the 'exit' button is clicked.

All this information has been posted here in this forum by myself and others in recent days.

I know I'm far from the only one this is happening to, because many others have confirmed in chat that it's happening to them too.

I don't know what other servers Oasis is clustered with (if any), but I'm hearing that they're having a similar time of it on Mistmoore and Nagafen as well.

I realize it's the weekend. I also understand that people have worked very hard to make SF a success - and still are - but come Monday, can someone *please* come down out of the Ivory Tower and explain what's been happening, and what's being done to resolve these issues?

We're trying to enjoy this MMO that we all love so much (and that you all at SOE have put so much into) - but the level of frustration and stress associated with the issues described herein is not at all conducive to doing so.

Thank you.

Update

The latest:

"There is currently no server for character's zone, please try again in a few minutes."

- I just got this message while trying to log back into the game.

I don't know if it's a server load issue (I'm not an IT or network specialist), but it's just going from bad to worse on Oasis.

It seems to me like it's a server load issue.. I can't load zone either..seems that he people taking care of the servers don't want me to play on my off days..

/sigh.

(edit; the rest of the stuf you discribed happens to me too..)

oh my issue is even better..... my toons are level 80 again when I spent the last week just barely getting to 82 with my play schedule..

not to sound like a naysayer but this has been SOEs MO since EQ1, releasing content and expansions that are bug ridden and not ready for release, including patches.

Additional observations:

Things seemed to improve for a couple of hours, but I just 'exited' an alt of mine after looking at "Receiving zone info" for more than five minutes while trying to zone into the Nektulos Forest Grotto (Zygomyd?)

- Several times today I've logged in and noticed that my chat channels apparently did not load (I didn't see the /join messages on my chat screen). When I looked, 1-9 was unchecked (something I know I did not do), and when I tried to join 1-9, I received the message:"the channel is full." It took several minutes and repeated attempts, in each case, to successfully join the channel. I don't think I've ever seen that happen before (at least not on Oasis).

- I've noticed that, after entering a zone and approaching entities such as Norrathian mailboxes, carpets, or NPC's (brokers, merchants, etc), I sometimes have to stand there for 30-45 seconds before they appear. This has been happening more and more often lately - but especially during the last week.

- Similarly (and this has also been happening for some time, but has gotten much worse recently), after any one of my characters zones, it takes nearly a minute for the character's mount to appear - often longer. I seem to be traveling some pretty hefty distances on foot before the mounts actually appear.

- Also, I still recieve quest update messages (and sounds) long after I've completed the turn in and left the zone. It's pretty much this was with harvesting quest updates too. I've heard other players mention this one a lot.

I was skimming this thread as Oasis is my server as well and the chat channel statement made me post. i have seen that issue several times in the last month or so and it seems if I try to log on with a character that was logged out while in a home it is worse. I dont have any specific examples but when I tried to log into one that had the rent expire it was almost always the case.

Just throwing out another observation.

We had people taking 10 to 20 minutes to zone out of the guild hall at raid time. And a few people who got stuck due to broker lag and items they were trying to put up for sale or buy preventing them from leaving, and then getting stuck with long zone times.

And more problems again today, 5+ minutes to zone into places.. if indeed I manage to zone at all. Considering the low population on Oasis I can only assume we're clustered with Mistmoore / Naggy or something.

It's a real shame too - just hit 90, loved questing in Stonebrunt and had finally found time to check out some of the new instances - spent 2hrs in Vasty Deep: Cella working on the strat for the last named - first time I've had to come up with a strat instead of knowing in advance and the sense of satisfaction on the kill was second to none.

I initally had my doubts about the xpac but the content is actually great - it's just marred by the TERRIBLE server performance we've had over the last few weeks.

I appreciate that you can expect problems / lag in the new zones.. but getting booted to char select / out of game every time you zone is a bit too much.

I'm posting my update way-late because I got side-tracked on Test Copy (Battlesrounds is looking pretty good, I think), and then with housework (gotta do it sometime =P ).

I spent 6+ hours in the same zone on Oasis Sunday, on the same character (harvesting in Thundering Steppes) - so I personally experienced no real delays while zoning (because I didn't), and no crashes or any other problems while there -- but I did 'overhear' many players in chat, disussing the very same problems that have already been mentioned in this thread - namely, very long waits at the broker, delays, hang-ups, and crashes while zoning, the 'missing character' issue, and problems logging into the game.
