So, I can't get my ACT parser to work. Mostly because I can't find my log file because I can't find my EQ2 files with windows 7.

Searching the forums, I came up with this thread, which told me to manually type in C:Users(your windows login name)AppDataLocalLowSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest II Streaming with /my/ windows login name to replace the ()

Awesome. Did that. Got excited.

Ran into a problem.

It can't find it. So, being the problem solver that I am, I deleted one portion of the tree out of the address until I could find something it COULD find.

I can get all the way to C:Users(my windows login name)AppDataLocalLowSony Online Entertainment

But the Installed Games part doesn't exist. I tried every variant of Installed Games I could think of. Nothing.

I looked into C:Users(my windows login name)AppDataLocalLowSony Online Entertainment to see if it would give me a clue, and all I found was .dll called npsoeact.dll, but nothing that would get me any further.

So......what am I doing wrong? And if this specific file path doesn't exist, where should I be looking?

Greetings,

Have you tried simply performing a search for the EQ2.exe file using the Windows search function? The location you're describing is the current default install location but it has changed with time. If you do a search for the eq2.exe then it should definitely point you to the right folder.

Try in C:programdata

I'm not on my home rig at the moment, but that seems right to me. It is a hidden folder in the root (why, I don't know...).

I'm working with a clean install of windows 7 from windows XP, so I assume I'm working with the new shiney launcher that does the streaming thing because search doesn't come up with anything having to do with Everquest or Sony on any of my current drives.

Karimonster...

When you install EverQuest II with the new launcher installer, you can choose any directory that you want.

Back in December, we moved the default to be...

C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest II

Note that there is no space in the word "ProgramData" which is different from "Progam Files".

-dan

I can find the directory with a search, but when I go to the browse button and search for it, I cannot find it. Any tips?

I think it's because the folder is hidden, as someone suggest earlier. I ran into this problem too when I first tried to find my layout files. I'm not at home to check any of this myself so I can't help you with making it unhidden but I believe it was not all that different from the XP process.

If you are using the new LaunchPad, you can click on the Options button and then click on the Game Folder: Open button.

In Station Launcher - the path is displayed within the Game Properties dialog.

-dan
