My first issue is with Station Launcher itself. According to a post stickied at the top of the Station Launcher forum, the latest version of the launcher is 1.1.5. If I tell Station Launcher to check for updates it tells me I have the latest version 1.1.4. If I download the installer again from the Station Launcher homepage it installs version 1.1.4. This by itself is not a big problem but it doesn't give me a lot of confidence that I can fix my other problem.

Station Launcher seems to be unable to patch Everquest 2 at the moment. I should start off by saying that I am on Windows 7 and I do run the Station Launcher as an administrator. I have run a full scan to double check the issue.

Basically Station Launcher is acting like my copy of EQ2 is fully patched already and has not been pulling down any of the updates since the recent expansion launch. This leads to the EQ2 client telling me that the version of the client does not match the server.

If I delete the executable and let Station Launcher redownload it, I get an error message telling me that it cannot confirm the checksum of the file. The follow appears to be the related error info from the log file:

2010-02-19 06:33:46 [3956] INFO lp2::updater:atchMonitor - SCANNING_LOCAL_SYSTEM2010-02-19 06:33:47 [3956] INFO lp2::updater:atchMonitor - CREATING_WORK_LIST2010-02-19 06:33:48 [3632] INFO platform::HttpGetter - Getting 'http://eq2.patch.station.sony.com/patch/lp2/eq2/en/patch1/en-main/EverQuest2.exe.gz'.2010-02-19 06:33:48 [3956] INFO lp2::updater:atchMonitor - WAITING_FOR_PIPELINE2010-02-19 06:34:20 [3632] ERROR DownloadCommand - Somebody tried to 'complete' a partial download: EverQuest2.exe.gz2010-02-19 06:34:22 [3908] ERROR lp2::VerifyCommand - C:Program Files (x86)Sony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest IIlp_tempEverQuest2.exe expected checksum is -916171048 but actual is -18537327262010-02-19 06:34:22 [3908] WARN platform::WorkerThread<class - Failed executing task 0589B5E0 : C:Program Files (x86)Sony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest IIlp_tempEverQuest2.exe expected checksum is -916171048 but actual is -18537327262010-02-19 06:34:22 [3908] INFO lp2::updater:atchMonitor - Updater exit status: 12010-02-19 06:34:22 [3956] INFO lp2::updater:atchMonitor - SHUTING_DOWN_PIPELINE2010-02-19 06:34:22 [3956] INFO lp2::updater:atchMonitor - WAITING_FOR_REQUEST

Where is Station Launcher downloading all these old files from? And can it be fixed? The standard response seems to be to try the streaming client but I get a terrible user experience when I use that. Perhaps it works better in countries with better internet infrastructure than mine.

Greetings,

Regarding the short download when SF released, I believe most of the files were preloaded before the game was launched. The best way to tell if you received those files is to try to access the content associate with the expansion.

Regarding the station launcher version. From what I understand, the new station launcher version just game out last night. It sounds like you were checking the site in the short time between the notification was posted and when the actual update was pushed live

Also, you mention running as an administrator, but are you actually right clicking the launcher and selecting 'run as admin' to start the game? Sometimes that can be necessary even when you have full admin rights on that PC.
