Hi!I was wondering about one thing. I started played EQ2 since day one, on and off, with a 60 pali as my main. The last time was during Summer 2008, by then my former EQ2 guild had left the server and it was too boring to play alone. I met nice people in VG, then played with them in WAR, AoC, FE, etc, but never in EQ2 yet. So when the SF expansion appeared on Steam I thought it may be nice to hook up with them in EQ2 too. Problem is my toons are on Runnyeye and the guild is on Splitpaw.I have fond memories of EQ2, enough to warrant the 35€ SF purchase. But not to play alone, nor to start making new friends and enter into a new single or multi-game guild while I have one active. So I was wondering if there was a way to get a complimentary account transfer onto another server (Runnyeye to Splipaw) for a returning player buying the new expansion. IIRC during the first or second year there was a free transfer offered between these two servers, but I was away and didn't move with the guild I was in at the time, so maybe there is still such an option now? Before anyone starts flaming, I am not asking for 150€ worth of service for free (I have 6 characters). I have everything up to Rise of Kunark, and am now willing to pay 35€ to play with my friends. The expansion is useless to me on Runnyeye, and paying 185€ for that pleasure is way too much.Thanks.

Greetings,

You may want to try contacting our support line, but I doubt we will be able to do that for you. Generally speaking, we are not authorized to provide discounts on the character transfer service. The price has been reduced on those transfers, though, from $50 to $25. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for your reply. I will contact support. I thought there may have been some kind of free account transfer put in place for returning players, you never know, but it looks there is none so I am not holding my breath. From what I saw in the KB, one can transfer his toons for free onto an Station Exchange server, for a promise of to generate some revenue in the future. The value of a service is in the eye of the beholder of course, and this beholder, an Oracle DBA for 13 years, can't see himself paying $25, let alone $50, for an automated call to a stored procedure. All that to enable me to then pay for an expansion, future monthly fees and Marketplace purchases. IMHO a free account transfer could be used to entice some players who have been away from the game for a long time to come back and start paying for an expansion, monthly fees and marketplace. I'm not saying someone like me will start generating thousands in revenue at once, I have no idea how much the Exchange players are generating, but IMHO something is better than nothing . As it is now, coming back will cost too much. I'll still contact support just in case .

was having the same problem with my inactive guild and happened by luck to fall in the same timeframe as the server combines happened so I lucked out with the free transfers that were allowed from those. He does bring up a valid point tho, if people were absent for the free transfers and resubscribe after that they should (in my opinion) be allowed one free transfer to the server of their choice. I know it probably won't happen and is just wishfull thinking but hey its my opinion
