game will crash to desktop without giving me an error message.

<p>I am reactivating an account (which i made my payment yesterday). and am not able to log into the game.</p><p>I first loaded the game by disk with the all in one pack that included the "Echos of Faydwer" and did the update through the launcher.  but the game would kick me out without ever getting to character or server selection.</p><p>so i deleted it and digitally downloaded the and older launcher that had the game selection screen on it and and then downloaded the entire eq2 game through that.  when i tried to run it same thing screen goes black then crashes right back to the desktop without an error message.</p><p>have my firewall and anti virus turned off .</p><p>Have also cycled my router and modem.</p>

<p>Greetings,</p><p>Sometimes the firwall can continue causeing problems even after being disabled.  Please open the exception list for your firewall and delete any entries that contain the words Everquest 2, EQ2, Launchpad, or Voiceservice.  Then rerun the patcher(right click an run as administrator if using Windows 7 or Vista).  Whenever prompted make sure to select 'allow'.  That should refresh the firewall entries and will correct the problem in most cases. </p><p>If the problem persists at that point then we'll probably need to get some additional information about your computer.  The first section of your DXdiag should be sufficient.  We have instructions about how to gather that info in the following post:</p><p><a href="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/posts/list.m?topic_id=353617" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=353617</a></p>
