Or so it seems to me, I just got this game yesterday and after playing into the night and having so much fun I log on today to get this problem.

Updater Error

There was a problem moving C:Program Files(x86)SonyEverquestIIlp_tempeverquest2.exe_del ta_8795_302.patched to C:Program Files (x86)SonyEverquestIIEverquest2.exe. Please make sure the game is not running.

Now I am pretty sure the game is not running when I first log in, this is through the station updater. I am looking around for help but it is really bugging me, it restarts every 5 seconds and does the exact same thing, I tried some things and I am looking around for others to try but can anyone help?

I am running Windows 7

I recently got my station to work again by downloading a new one and it spent 6 hours updating a the game. Then two days after its happened agian and I can't get into the game, it seems to think the game is running when I have tried so many things to make sure it isn't. Is there anyway to fix this?!

It seems if you go to the start menu after closing the station launcher, then right click on the launcher button and click Run as Administrator, it will work fine...

Someone in another thread mentioned it and it worked for me

Looks like someone else posted this problem here and discovered Station Updater was still running in the background. You might want to doublecheck that.

Also, if you haven't set the game to "run as administrator," try right-clicking the program icon on your desktop and selecting "run as administrator" to start the game.

My other thought if neither of the above suggestions solve the problem is that the 64-bit versions of Windows are rather stringent when it comes to file security in the "C:Program Files(x86)" folder. You may want to try creating a new folder such as "C:Games" and then copy and paste everything from your existing "Sony Online Entertainment" folder into it and try launching the game from there (by right-clicking the EQ2.exe file and selecting "run as administrator" unless you've already set the file's Properties to always run as administrator).
