View Full Version : Make all dungeons link to LFG ... delay battle grounds and use the resource for the player base...

... I love the idea of battle grounds, my ideal game would enable me to level and gear up on BG's. Taking a break to do long interesting questlines. I have no interest or desire to go collect 11 goats balls and return them to some cook to make a lovely pie I will never use.

I know the BG's do not offer this currently and in their current state will see very little action, they will ghost towns inside of 2 weeks.

Put BG's on hold until they are better balanced and fun. Use the servers and technology to link the LFG tool to all the dungeons, make instances of the shared dungeons as well. WoW has done this to great success, it supports new players, exisiting, players that play at odd times and helps all low populated servers.

Make BG's the fun they should be and not a waste of space they are currently. They should be:

fun

involving

a valid way to gear up

Avialable to all levels

Forcing players that want to try to play at max level is stupid.

My 2 cents.

Agree with this completely. The dungeon grouping across servers idea is a fantastic way to make LFG easier and keep low population servers active. EQ2 has done a great job over the yeras at making dungeon loot a bit more interesting, so it would be nice to have something like this.

It really doesn't have to be cross server, it could be cross levels with an averaging mentor up/down system and token rewards for gear progression.

Cross server is just a band aid to get larger populations, we can already today

1) Have multiple Antonica's on the same server

2) Create an instance and group with other people on another server (BG's)

So why not go the whole hog and merge all the servers into one shard style server. With that system raiding, dungeons, questing, everything can be done with anyone else who plays EQ2, unlike cross server where you are likely to never see people you group up with ever again.

For that reason socially cross server for me is dead, its fine in PVP since its all action and no talk, but I found it souless in PVE.

Actually that cross level system Atan mentions is very interesting, it involves very little changes needed.

No, thank you. I have no desire to run even moderately difficult content with people that I don't know. Pick-up groups suck as it is. Introducing a wider pool of people to the mix will simply make them suck more.

The only good thing about them would be if they were to bring in more players for PvE.

Also since no one should feel they have to go there to gear up for PvE they should not provide gear for PvE (or at least it should be less good for PvE that what you can get from the same effort in PvE).
