Hello Norrath!

Ive decided to take a more serious approach to my dps and since SoE doesnt offer an attack timer with their standard UI (that bar that i see on Youtube vids that let you know when your next attack will happen) Im looking to get one.

Here's my delima(s)

1) I read the dev post on trusting 3rd party download (and not too) due to many hiding trojans or the sites themselves phishing for account info so Im scared to even go looking for one - I may be paranoid about it but Im chosing to be scared and keep my info secure rather than lose my hard earned golds - Is there a respected link you could point me to?

2) Im not looking for a whole UI like this Profit I keep hearing about, from my experience with EQ1 the less changes to default the better, and relying on a completely different UI is a crutch , atleast for me when it finally breaks / stops being updated I become lost .. so if its possible to download just that UI piece needed for the attack timer Id appreciate any advice / links to a decent one.

3) Installation - I have 2 accounts, my wife plays on the other but they share the same EQ Directory, Is there a way that If I do install one I can only have it appear on some characters not all - she has no interest in adding anything to her UI and has made that clear to me /whipsnap

4) if the answer to 3^ is Yes there is a way, can you point me to some place that explains it well? I was very comfortable messing with my eq1 directory adding UIs, even making changes to inifiles after playing for 8 years, but Im new to the way eq2 is coded so I bow to your knowledge and ask for advice

5) If anyone did actually take the time to read this whole thing and can provide me the answers to make my dpsing more enjoyable I truely thank you for your patience & willingness to help a player in Need

OK I'm not really into the technical aspect but what you're looking for is at EQ2 Interface, which is where most UIs and mods downloads for EQ2 are accessed. It's a good site and I have never had any issue with it.

Here's a download from there for an autoattack bar (which is what you are after if I read your post correctly).

AUTOATTACKBAR

hmmm I don't think that with having the same EQ2 directory for both accounts will allow you to just 'select' which char gets to see the attack bar, since the info will be in the 1 UI directory. BUT, your wife can adjust the window settings on the attack bar by sliding the opacity all the way to the left for everything and moving that window to somewhere just about off-screen or behind maybe her chat window. This should make it effectively 'invisible' to her current setup, while allowing you to view the attack bar. I may be incorrect, but this would be how I would 'get rid of' a ui element I didn't want to see...

Is it possible to use this addon with EQ2 Maps? The guide on the website mentions putting a line of text into a file that EQ2 MAPs doesn't have. So I'm unsure where to actually place it. Also editting the EQ2.ini file makes it so EQ2 MAPs stops functioning so I'm unsure where to place what line.

Do you have the EQ2MAP folder inside of the Profit folder or just the contents of EQ2MAP "eq2map2, images, POI, eq2ui...map2.xml, and eq2ui...poi.xml"?

Thought about using Profit so this will be useful to know. Sorry to derail the topic a little there

EQ2Map folder is inside the profitUI folder, should be done automatically if the EQ2MAP updater is configured so that the UI folder it uses is ProfitUI
