Can't get to game

<p>I just bought EQII today, and I got it installed, but I can't get to the game.</p><p>When I clicked on the desktop shortcut, it brings up a window "Updating files for launcher." After a little while, I get an error message saying "Unable to load application files from C:/Program Files (x86)Sony Online EntertainmentStation Launchermain. Do you want to retry?"</p><p>I retried, but got the same message. I restarted my computer, tried again, and got the same error.</p><p>Can someone help me figure this out? I really don't want to find out I wasted $20 on a game I will never be able to play.</p><p>In case it matters, I'm running Windows 7.</p>

<p>When I updated to Windows 7 recently, we had to change the shortcut in the properties on the eq2.exe and the patcher.</p><p>  It took me ages to figure it out though.  I hope that this helps....</p>

<p>I am having the exact same problem but I am using Windows XP and doing the 14 day trial...worked fine for 2 days now it's packed up totally...any ideas how to fix it?</p>
