I am having trouble holding aggro in groups. I have been told that i should be dual weilding and primarly using offensive stance when tanking, is this true?

Here is my current AA setup;

http://www.thebrasse.com/eq2/aaxp.p...035055500005555

http://www.thebrasse.com/eq2/aaxp.p...004040400000001

So what is the proper way for me to be tanking in groups or even raids?

Int tree is ok, in Str put 8 points on crit, in sta 8 on double attack. In SF you'll also finally be able to generate a noticable amount threat with taunts, that should help as well.

Definately use offensive stance.

With dual wielding, depending on the rest of the equipment, I'd be careful but it's certainly viable for the most parts. Just notice that when dual wielding, the auto attack delay of your primary hand will go up, so this might not be a good option for heavy AE content (as the "AE auto attack" only fires off of your primary hand).

What about the warrior tree end AA that removes all stance penalties, should i be getting that? If i am going to dual wield half the time I am probably going to drop the stam tree with all the shield related AA's.

The gains aren't enough to warrant sacrificing from STA, STR, or INT trees.

I would still spec STA 4-4-8-8 even if you plan on dual wielding, simply because there is content and situations you want to use a shield, such as a really hard boss, an undergeared or underskilled healer, or when %$#!# hits the fan. In those situations, you will want as much defense from your shield as possible.

Even while using a shield, you want to use Offensive stance.

Also to help mitigate the defense penalties of using Offensive stance, be sure to use your temporary buffs religiously.

The best advice I can give, when tanking as a zerk, DW/OFF and keep your gear a nice mix of DPS/Def gear.

As far as AA, for right now, i would wait until SF launch, take a look and then see what you can come up with, since there are some rather drastic changes to the trees being implemented.

Always keep a shield on hand and hotkeyed for an O $H!T moment, and use temp buss religiously as previously stated.

Certain classes will have to be the masters of their own aggro~i.e. rogues, sorcerers.

Theres very little you can do to keep them alive when they're going balls out on DPS. My philosophy...let em die, they'll learn eventually or have hefty repair bills for their ignorance. As far as Wizards go...they're gonna die, period...esp. if they are mythed, all it takes is one cirt da ice comet or whatever, and they'll instantly rip and die.

Rogues, having played the brigand atleast, has a million and one ways to handle aggro, if they die, its their own fault.

And always remember....DPS is what is going to help you the MOST with your aggro, taunts are a small help, but they help nonetheless.
