Hey, i have a problem and im just wondering if im the only one or what. EQ keeps crashing, somtimes it jus closes the programe and puts you back to desktop or it likes to crash and give a blue screen with loads of text on it witch only lasts for a few secs tops so i cant read it all and then restart the pc by itself.

I started on trial and then subscribed and this never happened at first only started later on as i explored more, same with the crashes, at first it was rarely now its random could be 2 min could be 5 min could be 20 but i tell u what its really starting to get on my [hmm perhaps nerves would be the thought we wanted here? oh or maybe ears? fingers? toes? nose? some other random body part that makes just as much sense as the other one mentioned that isn't appropriate and is therefore edited out by the profanity filter and had to be misspelled deliberately in order to get it to post! let's not do so again -k]

My computer meets the min req's no problem its only a month or so old and not exactly cheap, drivers and everthin updated, i have windows 7 aswell and im thinking this could be a problem, ive tried changing the compatability to xp but no good, looked all over the net and found a few little tips that didnt really do anythin. Anyone else in the same boat as me?

Any help would be appriciated.

Greetings,

Is it possible to get the text of the blue screen? I'm only interested in the file it is indicating as the cause, not the full text. Also, it would be helpful to get at least the first sections of your DXdiag, up through the sound devices section. You can find information on how to do so in the sticky post here:

http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=353617

...Also, Kiara wins for the best edit

Having similar problems. Running Vista btw...my first blue screen was about virtual memory, second time it dumped my physical memory, another time it was suggesting to update bios. I have 75% of my hard drive free, so it shouldnt really be a memory problem. I mean like IF I ever go LD while in game, it might be once or twice a year and usually a zoning problem. Now its happening if Im changing zone locations, not actual zoning but crossing over into a new area...say like going from Highland Salts to Toxx area. But I have also been getting dumped when I port back to my guild hall or use the Wiz porter to leave the guild hall, couple times Ive also dumped out when clicking the box to finish a quest. I wasnt having this problem in beta, but it seems to be getting worse each day. Also, the music is spiking, going from its normal sound rate into blasting sound, not sure if its related.

Are you still having problems? This sounds pretty basic but check to make sure you have a matched pair of ram. Ive been running on a 2 gig and 1 gig for years without a problem, but since expansion its been crashing me out. I did a memory check and its not liking my two mismatched sticks...took the 1 gig out and havent crashed since.

Thnx Alima

Since last weekend my Girlfriend started to crash in EQ2 approx every 10-20min .

Tried everything to solve it updating drivers, full file scan etc. etc.

Then I stumbled over this post and thought this could be the problem since she was runnin a 2Gb and 1Gb RAM.

Lucky my I had my 2 matching 2Gb RAM capsules from my previous PC gathering dust so just popped them in instead and the crashes stopped
