View Full Version : Why do SK (and Berserker) hardly have snap aggros?

About Sentinel's Fate.

Guardians are snap aggro king.Paladins are walking hate transfer king. Therefore Paladins will be at home at holding aggro."Mantis Leap", Brawlers' new STA AA is 10 seconds Reinforcement, that is if Brawler gives damage to mobs, Brawler's hate position increases.

On the other hand, SKs hardly have snap aggro.Sacrament was nerfed.Death March remains T6 level.I think that SKs have difficulty in holding aggro in SF.

In EQ1, SKs were hate king. How did this happen?

No clue since I havent played beta.. I am sure it prolly just means we gotta work it like we used to, so unless one has a TSO born SK it shouldnt be much of a change really to playstyle *shrug* btw does DM get an upgrade?

Khatiru@Butcherblock wrote:

btw does DM get an upgrade?

As far as I know, Death March doesn't have an upgrade in Sentinel's Fate.If only Death March has an upgrade or Death March can be enhanced by new AA.I'm pessimistic about SKs in Sentinel's Fate.

Zerkers only get rescue for snap aggro, but the TSO AA lets us get 2 more.

Bruiser

(1)Wild Beating: AE snap aggro per 30 seconds(2)Control Hate: single-target snap aggro per 45 seconds(3)Mantis Leap: 16 seconds single-target/AE snap aggro per 90 seconds(4)Staggering Blow: single-target snap aggro per 60 seconds(5)Devide And Conquer: AE snap aggro (and Forces half of the target encounter to target and attack Bruiser) per 90 seconds(6)Rescue: single-target snap aggro per 180 seconds(7)Sneering Asault: single-target snap aggro per 180 seconds

Shadowknight

(1)Rescue: single-target snap aggro per 180 seconds(2)Sneering Asault: single-target snap aggro per 180 seconds(3)Touch of Death(Mythical): Forces target to change their selected target to caster per 6 minutes(Sacrament is no longer snap aggro and Death March remains T6 level.)

What is this difference?

Suggestions

(1)Grave Sacrament(a)Change the hate increase per 4 seconds to "the hate increase on any successful attack" like new Holy Ground. The hate increase per 4 seconds is inconvenient and not user-friendly.

(b)Change the recast time of Grave Sacrament from 3 minutes to 2 minutes. This would help covering lack of snap aggros of SKs.

(2)Crit moderationChange like this.

Melee crit: 1.30Spell crit: 1.50Heal crit: 1.30

This would help covering the decrease of dps.

Lol as it currently is on beta except for the minor changes most people won't notice a diffrence. As for SK hate management tools Harmtouch Deathmarch Fd(on ourselfs or someoneelse) Searing assaault(think that's the tso aa one) Our mythical Grave sac Intercepr Rescue End of eof line forget the name Taunts And supior dps to other plate tanks. What else are you looking for out of this class My guard has Rescue Seering hatred(that tso one) Recapture(that other tso one) Reinforcment Taunts Intercept Moderate Lackluster dps I can see where this class currently has a lagit b!tch Zerkers have Rescue The 2tso AA Taunts Better dps Gibe I love the sk class but if you are asking for more on a class that pretty much has/had it all. TSO took us from a class that needed skill, paticance, and dedication to master and made us walking uberness. Stop asking for more geebus

Seems like they are deliberately letting brawlers have a great many snap aggroes while denying them to plate tanks. Maybe to make them relevant as OT's for raids or something? Who knows. That being said, taking away hate positions from Grave Sacrament isn't gonna kill SK's. Holy Ground went from 24 hate positions to 1 position initially and a dmg/taunt proc for 13 seconds. Our sustained hate looks fine, just not snap aggro heh.

Well FD and intercept arent really snap agro tools.... And I rarely use FD anymore anyhow... gonna assume there is a Harm Touch upgrade and yes it can be used as snap agro tool... thinking you mean Hateful Respite i think, but EoF one isnt something I would consider as snap agro either... I'd consider them more like agro management i think than snap agro... btw i am thinking more from raid stand point sorry if i am bit baised here

I have an SK with 2 pieces of T4, rest T3, most of the fabled instance gear and some raid items.. 177AA and all spells/CAs I use at master and I have trouble holding aggro without swashy+dirge/troub+coercer in group, especially against 20k+ dps wizards...(one spell wizzy goes from <20% hate to top of list).. I really wish I had trak shield because having to rely on snap-aggros in instances is pretty dumb imo.. Hate isnt a problem in raids however because you usually have the right setup for tank in raids..(dirge+swash+coercer)...

This forum made me "lol". Not to be rude but..we are fine with snap aggro. You know GS has a increase 2 positions on it? If you're DPSing too and pretty moderately in a good range..hit GS and viola..I dunno I only know a few rare SK's that think we're fine with aggro..I really don't see an issue at all....."OMG" easy mode is gone..good. I hated that ability so much. I love working to play my class well...trust it can be done to snap aggro or hold it just have to know how to do it properly.

For one I didn't run a ton of instances and room pull a bunch of stuff like people seem to love to do. For two in a raid situation using GS could be very bad because it literally meant everymob int he area was on you like glue, including the mob the MT was handling. I will honestly use the new GS much more than I use the GS that is on TSO. The only thing I would like to see is the base recast lowered to 2 min. Right now it is a little long which with the way it was in TSO it was understandable. Now since it is only 2 hate positions we need to be able to cast it a little more often.

I'm personally going to be using this ability a lot more now. IMO This GS is better than the last one. I actually get to use it this time!

In beta I room pulled and held aggro fine.
Its all about knowing GS range to not rip mobs fro the mt and also about getting serious with Blasphemy and some mad single target taunts / myth click.. GS still generates plenty of hate for sks in SF imo.. if you were souly relying on that 1 aoe to hold aggro in tso then just go spec properly.. or choose a diff class.. just sayin
