So, I was scribing to my Tome here, while enjoying my tall glass of ale, as I usually do. Traditionally, I'll take a drink after every word, which really is the best way to write, in case you haven't tried it. Naturally, my mug ran out quickly (I might have been taking bigger drinks this time), and I went to refill it. Then I drank the refill, and refilled it again (of course). When I returned, I found something curious laid over my Tome.I think I've seen this writing before, but I cannot recall where for the life of me. Perhaps this is something you all can help me with? Looking at some of the pieces, it kind of looks like it should make a big circle, maybe calling them by their relative clock positions would help in figuring out what it says overall.

Another piece to put together..."human" from Ten Ton Hammer should go after Lore4 but I haven't translated it yet (and I won't have time to get to it so someone else do it). For those trying to put this all together in one image, the pieces may need to be resized and/or rotated as "human" needed to be to fit with bixie and lore4.

Ok so based off the compilation post by Runelaron I was able to reconstruct the first ring. The order is below and the ring parts are numbered. To lend further suppoert to this ordering There was a little graphic niblet in the bread graphic that conected to the galactica one so this looks prett promising. I am still not sure on the over all orientation of the ring but I used Bixie as a starting point for this orientation. Awsome work everyone. Maybe we can glean some new ideas from this I hope. So they are starting to look like concentric rings at this point. As of yet I am not able to match them to a spiral pattern ( mainly because of that outer string of text in my last pic. When I combine the list below I get another ring about 3 times smaller than the larger ring but they align graphically. I am going to start combining them into rings to see what I come up with...Ring1. Kerran2. Unicorn3. Lore14. HIgh Elf5. Dark Elf

Its a solid spiral so.. it turns into 1 long story on how to do the quest.. Malachi thanks for your help.To answer your question, I think its because people like to solve riddles and learn about events that are going to happen in the game. And these books lead up to bigger events by reading them and once we discover the books we will get the answers..I for one just like the riddles.Sorry guys didn't realize what time it was. Ok so I went through and grouped all the layers in PS that we have new text matches for and it looks like going counter clockwise froglock should connect to battle then lore 3 > milk > gems. Have not put much thought into what that translates to text wise Rune has that angle covered, but more possible associations to explore they are pretty clear cut matches graphically. I will post a new version of the graphic soon.

From what i can discern from the last part.. on section 3,He talks about writing the notes with a special ink that you need to do something with involving volcanic ash.He also talks about the portal he sent the notes through and is now weakened by it. He also describes the portal as a small storm.

I have 34 - so that means there are four pieces missing. I made my best guess at where the words twisted. Does anyone know if the four missing pieces are on fan sites that we haven't found?Esteemed scholars, I apologise for my long absence. Unfortunately, I was discovered translating the third set of research notes and have been imprisioned for some time. I cannot be certain of my fate, although, what happens to me now of little consequence for the information I have is invaluable. It details a troubling event involving not only in the history of the Erudites but possibly all of Norrath. When the guards caught me, I was able to hide away the pieces of the journal I had copied. I knew that I was under suspicion and I copied all of the notes I found onto individual pieces of parchment. During my imprisonment, I have been able to translate the documents where there has been ample light and minimal supervision. Thus, I give you now the last piece of the researchers notes. Well using the new order I took another crack at assembling this thing. First you guys put in achievements and now this. I worked this one from the inside out here is the latest. I will work it from the outside in tomorrow maybe I can get it. I especially loved it cause it was in Erud. I have been waiting for Odus to return since the first expansion was on the horizon. As any of my game mates can confirm I have a special fondness for the Erudite's and the history of Paineel which is why Malachi carry's the surname Faratain. Now there is some lore I would like to hear, what happed to Darton and Faratain and their descendants.Awesome Job to all who participated and special thanks to Rune for being a fantastic chronicler. Looking forward to setting foot in Paineel again soon.Oh an yes please on that book Cronyn I will dust off a special spot for it in Boomba Squad's guild hall library. It would be cool if it were written in Erudite as well so only those blessed with the learned tongue can gaze upon the words and understand.

Once you have collected the twelve pages and have the ink and ash to hand, purchase a leatherback tome cover from the sages. This will help to preserve the fragile parchment and keep it safe for all to see. Combine these items in the tome cover and you will have completed the notes. I believe this is the last you will hear from me. I feel there may be more beyond this set, but I fear I am no longer free to locate them. Consider this as the last. However, I have been kept in a weakened state and can no longer fully complete the rituals necessary for transference. Therefore I believe the pages are stuck in the final stages of materialization and might not have emerged in the physical plane. I picked up all of the pages, the ink, the ash, the binding. The only thing I had a problem with was the ash since I didn't find it in Lavastorm. It wasn't until I scrolled down a bit on the EQ2i page for this that I saw each server had its own location for the ash. After that it was easy to find. <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" />Oh, and one thing I noticed as I found the glowies on Antonica: they were around where lowbies could get them without too much problem. I found them near the Qeynos griff tower, on the way to the Claymore, none in Archer Woods, or along the hiway thru where the gnolls are, or by the hiwaymen area. But then they appeared again near McQuibble's Farm, near Ardent Keep. My Illy is L35 so had no problem, but I could see running a little one around to get the pages no problem. /thumbs upThank you, Cronyn! The ash is located at a different location in Timorous deep on every server. None of them are the same, so you have to just look.

Has this been turned off yet?I'm trying to get the volcanic ash on my Wizard, spent over an hour searching along the spot that I found it before on Gorowyn Beach in Time Deep, but nothing. I also have this sitting on my little Warlock to be finished.I sent a petition, was told that it's possibly shut off since it was a pre-SF quest.The globes are still collectable, the ink well is still clicky, and the leather binding can still be bought. I did that today.My petition is still pending, the GM was going to forward it to QA to see what's up, but I thot I'd mention it here in case I could get a reply from someone in the know./tempts Cronyn with an ale or three...Thank you in advance!

It's likely that the ash was moved due to server resets. So the original location will not be same next time after the servers come up.Basically, look in other known locations and you should find it again.

The other pieces (globes, ink, binding) just haven't been removed from game yet.I'm hoping I can be given the ash, but if not, I'll just have to wait until it's available on the merchant.Thanks for your reply.

I haven't seen the mysterious notes, which is sad! I've been waiting for them, and a few other books...I just wanted to note that people have been finding the ash. Either they added it back, or the GM was mistaken... but go looksie! It's either in TD or Lavastorm. Lavastorm is generally an easier-to-find ash than TD, unless you know where to look in the latter. d: If you need help, let me know either in-game or via PM and I can hop over to your server and look for the ash.

BTW, it is still possible to complete the book. The pages are all scattered around Antonica and the Commonlands still. I found the ink still available in the mage towers, and I found the ash right off the docks in Lavastorm the other day.

Yeah, I know about the ash still being found, thanks tho.A player on Unrest asked what it was a few days ago, I told him, and found that others have been finding the ash in either Tim Deep or Lavastorm.The thing is, I escalated the petition up to a Lead GM, and he told me that he contacted QA and they told him it was turned off. Ah well. /shrugI'm going to get a book completed before it does go away.
