EQ2 Keeps Creating Shortcuts In My Start Menu

<p>I use Windows 7 Ultimate, and every time I execute the EQ2 Launcher it automatically creates a shortcut in my start menu. I keep deleting it because it's annoying, but of course it is futile. Is there a way for eq2 to not make this weird shortcut every time I play?</p><p><img src="http://img709.imageshack.us/img709/386/eq2shortcut.png" /></p>

<p>this bug has been known about for a very long time...it will be fixxed someday...prob sometime after the exp comes out,then they will have people who can look into it....i usualy wait untill i have about 50 then i go into the reg and delete the reg files for that.</p>

<p>Sadly, as mentioned above, this is a known issue with Windows 7.  I am not currently aware of any way to correct it besides deleting the excess entries.  Hopfully it will be corrected by a patch in the near future.</p>

At first I thought it was an EQ2 thing, but I've noticed Final Fantasy makes shortcuts in the start menu to.</p><p>I hope Microsoft fixes it soon then; I like to keep my computer very organized so it bugs me.</p><p>So... I opened my Games folder and saw all of this.</p><p>Is there a way I can delete all of these EQ2: DoF icons? <p>You have to remove them from within the registry using regedit.</p>

<p>Have a look at<a href="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/posts/list.m?topic_id=461478" target="_blank"> this </a>post, last reply gives you a couple of links to a handy little prog that will delete all the duplicate icons for you.</p><p>Not exactly a permenant solution but is handy until one is found.</p>
