Unable to load the game

<p>Game loaded happily last night but today it jams when downloading xpti.dat.</p><p>Says Update Complete but the Updating button is greyed out and doesn't turn into the Play button. Tried clicking on the Download button but nothing happens.</p><p>Have tried a full scan and other machines on the network can run EQ2 without issues.</p><p>Any thoughts as to how to bypass this step or fix it please ?</p>

<p>Discovered that two machines running Windows 7 64 bit have the issue, the other two machines running Windows XP and Vista 32 bit are both fine.</p><p>Have a support call open with the tier 2 team so will let you know the result.</p>

<p>Hmmm my one that has XP loaded is the one with the problem, the one with Vista is fine.  Have tried rebooting the router and reinstalling the game and EQ2 but still no joy.</p>

<p>Tried the same thing, total remove and reinstall but get download cancelled still. Even tried copying the files from the machine that patches okay in the hope that would work but no joy.</p><p>Checked network with the SOE guys and they said it was fine.</p>

<p>I copied the Mozilla folder in the EQ2 folder from the machine that works into the one that dont work, it let me play, but stoped working after i logged out and went back to the same problem so its only a temp fix, might work for you to, at lest to get on for a bit.</p>

<p>Had tried that copied the entire EQ2 folder from the working machine but still hangs. The other machine is fully patched so cannot be anything else left to download.</p>

<p>Same Issue for me - running windows 7 32bit.</p><p>Was fine until yesterday when I logged in....now I can't play EQ2, LON or SF-Beta...each is just cancelling download..only message has been "unknown error".</p><p>I am also in Auckland NZ and I noticed you guys are also...I am on Xtra, are you?</p>

<p>I've been trying to fix this for two days!</p><p>I am in Auckland, NZ also and on Xtra. Are you guys using the Station Launcher or the launcher you get from just dl'ing EQ2?</p><p>On the Station Launcher, I get the update and then it says the update has failed and the station launcher will try again in five seconds.</p><p>On the other launcher, after i enter login details it tells me "Cannot communicate directly with plugin"</p><p>Have you guys run a tracert? We should compare outputs.</p><p>When mine gets to 3, it shows no comms.</p>

<p>I am using Win 7 and when I tried to run Tracert I got a denied message at command prompt (I could barely remember any dos commands anyway, been about 15 years since I did any of that stuff)...also as I am on Antonia Bayle I wasn't sure whether that was one word or had a fullstop in it...</p><p>I have not had the "plugin" message</p><p>When I run the Station Launcher it gets as far as "SCANNING - Loading Remote Manifest" then it stops with an "unknown error has occured while updating - will retry 5 seconds"...this just repeats every time it tries.</p><p>The Launcher does the exact same thing when I try and play LON or try and patch Test.</p><p>When I try and run the old EQ2 patcher it stops on "Download:Everquest2.exe_delta...." and then says Download cancelled.</p><p>Same thing happens when I do a full File Scan, it scans the files 100% to the same Everquest2.exe_delta and cancels.</p><p>When I try and enter game with no patcher it says my version differs and to re-run patcher.</p><p>I am in SF-Beta and have not been able to get that to patch either since this started two days ago. On the Beta patcher it cancels on "Download: eq2ui_gamedata.xml_delta..." and a full file scan has the same result. </p><p>Same thing is happening on both my computers.</p><p>Have reinstalled launcher, set admin priviliedges etc</p><p>I also have noted that both Launcher start and Patcher Intializing appears slow or sluggish compared with normal.</p><p>The fact that EQ2 was working perfectly on two computers and then not the next day in my view points to something server side and with respect to the techs I do not feel sufficiently qualified to be fiddling with all my settings which have not changed to cause this.</p>

<p>I have tried both patchers, spent over 1 hour on the phone to SOE and get the same errors as you Kesslaar.</p><p>Did the tracert and pathping and they said all was good from the network point of view.</p><p>I am also on Xtra.</p>

<p>OK I believe its the next expansion files that are causing the problem. My other machine was fine yesterday; however today its is trying to download more files starting EXP06 and now has the same fault as the other machine.</p><p>Of the 5 machines we use to play EQ2 (on using 4 accounts) :-</p><p>Friday - All worked</p><p>Saturday - 2 failed .. 3 still worked</p><p>Sunday - All failed</p><p>I suspect that they are deploying the expansion based upon account name; and they are adding more people to the download list. This is only a guess but seems logical given no changes have been made to 4 out of the 5 machines</p>

<p>I agree that its on the server side, cos i've tried so many solutions now and it simply has to be. However, not sure about the expansions as I have actually deleted ALL of the SOE programs off and reinstalled windows, and then tried to reinstall. Still no fix. I can't even reinstall the game. Maybe we have all been added to some sort of banned account list by accident lol</p>

<p>OK...so today without me doing any more changes or fiddling with settings both computers have got past the remote manifest block on the Launcher... </p><p>One computer has patched normally from the Launcher and I am in game...patch size was couple of MB's</p><p>The other computer is patching but is showing a 9.11 GB! patch...</p><p>Well at least I can play again.</p>

<p>Yep same here .. patcher is now running and starting to download cleanly. Looks like I may get to play tonight .. whooppee</p>

<p>The update stops half way then stops and does that a couple of times then times out and says error 1032 please help. I t was  working fine 5 minutes before they put the servers down for an update now I can't get in.</p>
