My conj will be 80 any day now. I can deal with not having vitality till the 16th but is there a valid concern that the expansion gets pushed back a month? (I say a month because they would have to make sure they are ready the second time around)

There is constant in game messages to join beta, I got a personnel invitation on Tuesday to join beta (I assume will all did) The servers... all of a sudden are acting like a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. I just get this feeling it's not going to be ready. And as another poster pointed out last week, the box they are sending out is really only a product key more or less so I don't see anything that says they are beyond the point of no return.

I have way to much aa to gain ground on that I can't go 45 days or so with no vitality. And yet on the other hand there is so much that I can do when I hit 80. .....and I get communion. Think about it, all of our pets out at the same time fighting for 30 seconds. .....that angels singing kinda stuff.

I don't know man ...what do you guys think.

I'm not sure why you don't want to ding 80 ? What would hitting 80 deprive you of ?

Is it that you currently are earning mega amount of AA due to having yourself locked at 79 and your slider bar cranked all the way to 100% ?

I guess I'd just rather play the game and have fun without worrying about AAs.

Absolutely, move your slider bar to 100% AA and get combat XP conversion to AA WITH Vitality and do not ding 80 unless you are 200AA already.

Vitality is a major bonus to AA with the slider bar.

And "Communion" is meh.

Well this is a loaded subject. I guess it depends on a multiple amount of factors. How many other max level characters do you have on your account (which are granting you an xp bonus)? How many shards do you already have banked away?

Those are the key questions. In the case of my Inq alt, I already had a T2/T3 set of hybrid dps shard armor and other gear set aside for soloing. I also was about 1/3 of the way towards his T2 healer armor. All things considered, I would have been a [Removed for Content] to not hit 80th. The moment I ding'ed, my Inq got a mountain of gear slapped on him. Things that used to be normal fights become trivial. Properly geared, he's now running amuck in JW and Moors. Also through hitting 80th, I've been able to get into shard groups on my healer. Pre-80th, most people don't want you in their shard runs.

Now if you had 3-6 other max level characters... Well that would be different. Especially if the expansion wasn't just around the corner. Since there wouldn't be a rush to be prepared for the expansion, you could take all of the time that you needed.

I'd still personally suggest that you hit 80th since it'll give you a much better pool of gear to work with. Gray shard quests and Moors repeatable quests are an easy source of AA at 80th. Let alone mentoring down in your vastly over powered shard gear and rampaging through lower level content as you solo the various AA granting named that you may have missed along the way.

In fact, all official announcements from SOE (and unofficial ones as well) are that the expansion goes Live on the 16th for the 7-day 'head-start' and on the 23rd for those getting the US-based Direct Download. There aren't even any credible rumors the launch dates for the expansion will be pushed back.

Halas is delayed until the next GU, but that has nothing whatsoever to do with the expansion. It's just free content that was announced as "hoping to release with the expansion". Some other content they wanted to release with the expansion (as part of the expansion or free extras) might be pushed back as well, that's happened EVERY release date (including the original launch to live of the game).

As for beta invites, EVERY expansion (and even the original launch) had beta invites going out even down to a couple days before the launch to live. Getting a beta invite now and/or still be encouraged to join beta now, even with just a bit over a week to go, has zero impact on the state of the launch date.

The fact there have been lead up previews and there will be a guided tour today are VERY strong indicators the launch date is going as planned.

As to dinging 80.. that's up to you. If you're not quite to 200 AA, you might want to just push everything into AA until the evening of the 15th (or the 22nd if you're not getting the 'head start' and then ding to 80. Or even ding 80 with the new content. It really won't matter one way or another.

Ding 80, get better gear and new spells, go kill low level named for aa.

If you don't think you'll get better level 80 gear, well, do what you like, but you SHOULD be concerned about getting your class fabled done, and well, you need level 80 for that.

Or will it?

I'm sitting at 79 (98.7%) till I get a load more AAs (only have 102) but I am curious as to the benefits that would out weigh losing vitality bonus. I'm already noticing a slow down in AA gain at 100, w/o vitality I imagine it'd be worse.

The vitality bonus doesn't affect anything other than combat xp conversion to aa, and that is by far the smallest portion of earning AA. Going to kill lower level named and doing missions is where aa is earned.

As your aa level goes up, the combat conversion rate to aa is abismal, adding a vitality bonus to abismal isn't worth handicapping yourself by staying 79 and not getting your fabled and level 80 gear.
