Just goes to show, all good things must come to an end.

Sneaky, very sneaky on the dungeon mentoring fix.

You know of course... I'm going to try and break it. Looks pretty Skeezie proof though, good job.

Not fool proof, but a darn good try. I think no matter what a game does, there will be people that try to find a workaround. The dungeons are a great asset to games and I love them (no idiots unless you bring your own!). One suggestion for a fix would be to have the reward 'coin' or points, be given at the level the dungeon was first zoned into. Mostly you need to go with the thought that we play this game to have fun - and you're giviing us that.

It's what I do on Test. Test stuff so they can make it a better game. They're doing a good job at that - it's why I play. And, it's one reason I play on Test. I don't play on any live server - Test is like a jigsaw puzzle that you're helping put together. If one of the pieces doesn't fit properly - we can point it out so they do make it fit. And when all the pieces are together - it's a very, very nice picture - with all the terrific times a fantasy world can bring.

After reading this I searched for patch notes to make sense of it but found none, so could osmoene please give more detail about this?

I frequenetly automentor my necro to 40 which allows me to easily solo varsoon (the dungeon, but not the end boss). It never occured to me that this might be wrong since locking ones level would allow basically the same thing, but if the ability to mentor in in a dungeon is taken away, it will very much affect my playstyle.

Thanks

To my knowledge, this only affects instances.

I'm guessing this is fixing the "exploit" where people would mentor to 50, zone into a shard instance, then un-mentor leaving the zone stuck at level 50 allowing them to burn through the grey mobs with ease and collect a shard.

If you are mentoring and staying mentored, then this shouldn't affect you.

I have not tested this on test, but on beta it also impacted Shard of Love.

You can still run instances that scale (tso intances / shard of love) while mentored. What you can't do in zone in while mentored, then unmentor to kill everything while it's grey.

They removed the gray shard exploit, but not the fun of playing together.

its all good.. instead of working some grey shard zones for legendary they made sure that we can still buy NO-TRADE Fabled in level chat. But its ok, since some other guys kill it you are allowed to buy it from him and wear it. Doing your own grey shards.. that's very bad, you didn't earn it. BUY fabled, no problem. Yeah for plat spam.

I think you can still do them by mentoring down to the green threshold. Same with shard instances.

As for the comment about loot, I'm pretty sure this has nothing to do with the shards themselves, it's the huge chunk of exp you get for doing it. They don't want us getting a ton of exp a day with no risk. Once the level goes up people would do these just for the exp as it would be a pretty effective path.

Let's keep it in one place. I realize that this thread has seen more action, but the other title is more obvious in what the post contains

Is it true you can't un-mentor in instances now?
