There are a LOT of Conjuror changes on Test server. Before I get into the AAs, lets talk spell changes.

And before you scream NDA, this is on the TEST server. So it is now fair game. First, a few changes. Our Mage and Scout pets now have about as much HP as the Mythical pet now. Which is good because we'll be using our Mage pet again starting at level 85. Pets now use OUR int to determine their damage. The higher our int, the higher the pet's base damage. They also removed all caps on INT, so it will scale indefinitely now. All of our pets (except for the Mythical pet), starting at level 73 with Aery Hunter now cast a raidwide buff. Sacrifice got mucho changed to be a heal over time and no longer kills the pet, but rather stuns the pet (it can be toggled off early). And our pet heal now has a cure component attached to it. Third is our KoS tree and part 1 of our new Sentinel's Fate AAs. STR1, STA1, WIS1, INT1, AGI1 are now gone. You can now spend up to 10 points in Possess Minion, each rank grants 4 sta and 4 int. All other KoS AAs with ranks you can now spend up to 10 on, some for further improvement than before, and some for slightly less per point but the same overall once you max out. Sentinel's Fate Attributes require level 81, plus 70 points spent in KoS tree to unlock. Each has 8 ranks, 1 point each. Elemental Toxicity unlocks once you spend 16 in Sentinel's Fate Attributes, costs 2 points per rank, 2 ranks. EoF tree is largely unchanged except for the straight Sentinel's Fate AAs. They require level 81 plus 70 points spent in EoF tree to unlock. Each has 5 ranks (except for Fury of the Elements which is 5 points for 1 rank). Fury of the Elements is basically the same damage amount as Blazing Conjurations, but half the recast. Elemental Blast is our endline, we have to spend 10 points in Sentinel's Fate tree (EoF) to unlock. I can't remember if its 1 or 2 points, but its only 1 rank. Attached is the damage difference between M1 Mage pet and Mythical pet at 1220ish INT at level 80. It's worth noting that the Mythical does not cast a raidwide buff, and it's also worth noting that +spell damage from effects like Power Flux are currently broken on Test. Don't worry about the damage difference for the time being. No matter how you spin it the M1 mage pet is now dramatically better than it used to be. Mage Pet Mythical Pet

Here are your recommended Sentinel's Fate AA builds for DPS. This will leave 12 AA to spend at your discretion. If you manage to get enough spell haste to free up Evocations, I'd recommend going down and getting Stoneskins AA in EoF tree. Tank pet build coming when I update the AA guide. Here is your recommended AA build.

Gormak wrote:

Xalmat, why is it you took Hydromancer? got that far through and thought may as well?

More or less. I have to hit 70 AA somehow to unlock Sentinel's Fate, and it was either waste it on Vehement Skin, Minion's Intervention, Pyromancy, Geotic Rune, Fire Seed, or Hydromancer. At least Hydro will pop out when you cast Communion, so it's not a complete waste.

To be honest I'm prolly gonna drop Pryomancy 2 and put those two remaining points into Earth Pet instead. I'll still meet the 15 AA requirement for Plane Shift that way.

Noone has said anything about us being debuffers? Has this gone into effect yet? Do we actually debuff magic now?

Our focus is on DPS and group utility buffs now, not debuffs.

My question is this: Since we are getting this "Mythical spell" what actually is it going to do for our pet, since they are taking away our myth pet. I see that other classes get to keep their mythical abilities such as the wizards spell double attack, but is ours just our crummy damage proc?

We're getting the clicky pet replaced with a clicky pet buff. I don't know what it does exactly, but I do know it will buff the pet's base spell and auto-attack damage (and will affect the Scout and Tank pets as well as the Mage pets).

I'd also like to say thank you in advanced as your posts are my go-to for all conj information and I appreciate that you take time to answer questions and update CLICK-ABLE gear lists. Woodji Mistmoore

The epic replacement quest will upgrade your Fabled epic to the Mythical weapon, and split the weapon and the spells apart. What you are left with is this weapon:

And this permanent buff you cast on yourself (sorry, I don't have access to a high quality picture):

Elemental Mastery

On a successful hostile spell this spell has a 12% chance to cast Inferno on target of spell. Lasts for 12 seconds.

Inflicts 795-1193 heat damage on target

Inflicts 261-392 heat damage on target every 3 seconds.

Applies Inferno. Lasts for 12 seconds.

Increases Crit Chance of pet by 20.

Prevents AOE (except when direct)

This spell cannot be modified except by direct means.

Improves the damage of the Conjuror's pet.

Increases the base damage of hostile spells by 10%.

This spell can not be modified except by direct means.

You will be required to be level 90 to get this quest, and you will want to finish this quest asap for the pet upgrade buff. The buff also affects scout and tank pets.

Played around on Test server. Was easily able to solo Obelisk of Ahkzul by straight up pet tanking with the Earth pet. The extra dps/aggro the tank pet generates, in addition to Sacrifice being a totally awesome spell, and our Pet Heal being able to crit for a large amount, made me feel like I was playing my Conjuror back in early 2005

I'd have thought throwing some AA in the scout pet might be a viable option rather than the hydromancer.

That's going by the new mythical clicky spell though.

Speaking of, here's a screenie I got of it Xalmat!

With that actually buffing the damage of the scout pet, I'd have thought that might be a viable option over throwing points in Hydromancer. At least that way it might be useful on fights where you cant really use the mage pet (like The Master in Crucible).

If elemental blast is the end-line desired aa to get -- is it then possible to obtain this at level 81 by respec'ing the KoS tree so you can fill up the SoF aa's in the EoF tree?

I would assume so...

From what I've seen on SF, the only thing stopping you taking it is being level 81 and having 70 points in the EoF tree.

In fact I plan on doing this myself once Sentinel's Fate goes live.

hoping this is the correct place for this, returning to the game and wanting to start a new char. Based on my playstyle and research Conjuror seems like a great fit for me. With the upcoming changes, what would the recommended levelling AA build be? Should I try to follow the DPS build in the 1st post? Thanks in advance!

Look for my new AA guide to answer that question. But, you have two choices:

* Tank pet build, which emphasizes defense over offense, but is very safe. Or...* Mage pet build, which emphasizes offense over defense. It's not as safe but you will kill things a LOT faster.

For the record Mage pet can take quite a few hits in the expansion compared to now, but a mage pet spec doesn't really come into it's own until you get Winds of Velious at level 55. That said put the Mage pet in defensive stance and just go crazy.

Kain-UK

I'd personally go with tank build until the 50's.

Solo'ing was much easier for me with that. So you want to go down the stamina line (which is the middle one on the screenshot Xalmat took). Will need to wait for the new AA's for better advice though.

After that, i'd say scout pet or mage pet, once you have winds of velious. I found the scout pet had better HP than the mage pet... but the mage pet did a lot more damage. Just make sure the mob doesnt get to it.

After GU55 the Mage pet goes from having the HP of a wet noodle to rather beefy. I'd almost say soloing via mage pet is now viable once you get your first mage pet at 20.
