Does anyone know what has happened to the Herald of Dar? I am doing this quest with a friend. Went to TT in the early sixties (my level not the year!) and found Dar. My friend took the map. We waited for another hour for a respawn which didn't happen. I have since been back a number of times but no sign of him. I even had a tracker in to make sure he wasn't around! The quest has gone from blue to grey in the time I have been looking. What a pain!

We tried this a couple weeks ago with the same results . . . decided to wander a bit and the Herald jumped us at the entrance to the Temple of Scale . . . he was not on track, just popped in on us and he was grey.

Yes he pops when you get close to the Temple of Scale. Beware he will pull the two ^^^'s with him that are near the entrance.

I just ran off the two adds and killed the herald on my Dirge a week or so ago.

I was peering not very cautiously round the corner when whoosh...there they all were!

Since then I have, more cautiously, peered round the corner, jumped over the step and performed a Freeportian War Dance on the spawn spot and still, alas and alack - he was so frightened of me he failed to turn up and fight!

Maybe my timing is wrong or something. I may return and do this I suppose as it is bugging me now but I have moved on from TT so maybe I will just delete it. I don't like to be beaten though.

The Herald of Dar walks from the entrance of the Temple of Scale to the Shrine of the Wurmking.

While I wait for him, I entertain myself by harvesting roots and picking up shinies, and killing the occasional droag.

Did this a few weeks ago myself. It seems to bug if you have multiple people on the same step. He'll spawn the first time, but will then refuse to spawn again. I ended up deleting the quest and starting over from the beginning and he spawned immediately on approach to the temple door.

I thought it was a good idea to delete the quest since I couldn't get Dar to spawn. Deleted - then looked up how to get it again - only to find out that the quest comes as a kind of auto-offering upon completion of the previous quest! Some folks are hasty I agree!

Well, given that I couldn't seem to progress, it maybe wasn't a bad idea. Any idea how to get the quest back again? I wouldn't bother except it is the second quest in the very long claymore questline and I would like to pursue it at some point.

Thank you all!

sure you can get the quest again. Just drop down the waterfall and search around the area and you'll be offered the quest again.
