Help!! I already have a 14 day trial ALSO installed. I just bought the Complete collection with the 2 discs, I installed them, I clicked on the icon on my desktop thinking all would go well but the station launcher didn't work. I reinstalled it from the sony page, I logged out of my 14 day trial and logged in with a new name I made. It said I had to subscribe! It is treating me like I'm still on a trial in the station launcher.

Do I have uninstall EQ completely and then reinstall EQ 2 complete collection on the discs to get this right or what? How do I get my free 90 days? I'm so confused. When I click on the icon inside the folder itself that was created from the discs, it takes me to the shadow odessy screen, I logged in but can't connect to the servers, I thought it would take me through the steps of signing up! ???

Have you registered the key code you got with the disks on the account you wish to use and entered your subscription information?

Click "My Account" at the top of this page. This will take you to Account Management login page. Log into the account you wish to use, either the Trial or the new one you say you created.

On the Account Management page towards the bottom will be a button for "Enter Activation Code". Click this and it will take you to the actvation code page.

Select the game from the drop down menu (Everquest2) and then enter the cd key code which you should find on the discs you purchased. Press Continue to enter your subscription information.

You will need to enter payment information and activate your subscription in order to get your free time. Billing will not actually occur until your appropriate free time is over, usually 30 days for a new account. Not sure about the 90 days.

Be sure to activate the code using the acccount management page for the account you wish to use. If you use the trial account then you will be able to continue to access your trial characters. Otherwise you will start all over again, not really a big deal in the larger scheme of things but might not be what you desire.

oops meant to say The Complete Collection has 60 Free days which I assume will go through after I enter the CD activation key.

I decided to uninstall anything Everquest, the disc install and the 14 day trial to start fresh. I am installing it now and will follow your instructions.

Thank you very much for your help, I will update in a bit

Your game install and activating your cd key are two separate issues. The game install is just the client software and, other than the character setup files created for your specific characters, has no bearing on your registration. Nor does your registration have any bearing on the game install on your computer.

There has been a recent change to the Launcher, actually two major changes, that may affect your install. There are now three Launcher versions available that may not work well together for the uninitiated. The old Launcher was specific to EQ2 and is still around. It may have been the one you were using for the Trial (brown graphic scheme with only EQ2 options showing). Two newer Launchers are blue in color and take you to a multi-game launcher page. One of these newer Launchers adds in the ability to stream patches while playing, the other does not.

I hope I'm not confusing the issue here. If you just install the discs per on screen prompts, activate the cd key on your account, and then login to the (now keyed) appropriate account, you should be able to automatically download any updates and begin playing. Since you uninstalled the game you will have to repatch though. The CDs never come with the most up to date file patches.

If you cancel the subscitpion anytime dueing the first 60 days the billing method will not be charged.

If you have any issue with it the best method is to contact support with Live Chat during their normal hours of 10 AM to 7 PM pacific Monday through Friday. Adjust those time to match the time zone oyu are in, Live chat can be accessed through the Search the Knowledge base link in the upper right hand corner of the forum

I just want to play the game but I can see I have a few more extra hours to go. For some reason I just thought you could click the EQ2 icon and start playing directly but I can see that like the Free to play MMO's, the station launcher is needed.

Thanks very much for your help!

What this means is that it starts off with only the minimum files needed to play the game (in order to keep the download during installation small, etc.). While you play the streaming client, it will download more data as needed. For instance, if you enter a new zone it will download any data related to that zone that you didn't already get. For smaller things that it can download while you play, I believe it displays an animated raptor walking in the corner of the screen with text indicating how much data it's downloading.

The non-streaming Station Launcher, on the other hand downloads ALL the data the first time you ask it to launch EQ2--that's where the 4 Gigabytes come in. This is more appropriate for players who installed from a CD/DVD and thus, don't have to worry about the speed of downloading 4 more GiB and players who experience lag when the streaming client downloads data during play, due to their connection situation.

Hopefully this clears up the "suprise downloads" issue for a few people.

You can log into your account through the My Account in the upper right corner and see if the field is available, if not the Search the knowledge Base link then chat tab to get in the queue. Thier hours are monday to friday 10 AM to 7 PM Pacific. Make sure to adjust to the time zone you live in. If you reciever a message stating that it is down or unavailable chances are you are outside their normal times.
