I just read that battlegrounds(BG) are top level only(90). You want new players. New players want to BG. Most old players are hardcore pve and dont want BG. No new players want to grind threw 90 boring levels to do 3 BG's. I was excited at news of BG's. I returned from wow anticipateing it. Im now leaving. I know people wont care that i am. But what the hell are u guys thinking. Makes no sense. You wont get new players with a level 90 BG.

I just read up on the BGs and diddent notice anything about level requirements. But crying about a level requirement, even if there is one, is pointless. Give the battle grounds 3 months and even if there are battle grounds at all levels they will basically be empty at the lower levels anyway... Personally I am kind of disapointed that they are all senero based instanced battle grounds, I find that sort of thing really boring. If it really has to be instanced at least give us a free for all

New players want to BG? Here's the thing, EQ2 is not the game you go to for pvp. Its a nice thing to have and all, but if thats your thing this really isn't the best place heh. I think its cool they are even adding battlegrounds in the first place.

BG's should be looked at so far as just a perk and not a major game element like the WOW BG's. Until we can test them though keep your initial negative reactions quiet. Very little in the history of all the EQ games combined has ever been focused on pvp.

I would anticipate on them probably being scaled to lower lvls at some point...but...if one announcement can make you quit....BYE!!!

That making BG's available in those low levels is pointless.

But I think it's pretty valid to start the first BG Tier from lvl60 - 69, then 70-79 and then a last one 80-90 (or even 80-89 and a 90 one). As there are plenty of players from level60 and up.

Especially when it's cross server BG's. Then it shouldn't be hard at all, to fill up those tiers at all. If it is, then EQ2 is in a far worse shape (sub numbers wise) then I thought.

They just have to make sure that mentoring / chronomaging is dissabled in BG's, so high level players can't godmode themselves in lower tier BG's.

Jer

Number one. Calling people STUPID for bringing you new content is .......... just childish and shortsighted in the extreme. So what if you THINK folks aren't interested? Alienating the devs, game designers and others who work on this project is not going to get you points with anyone.

Number two. I mentioned battlegrounds on my server last night (lot of folks hadn't yet heard about them) and the response was surprisingly enthusiastic among long time players. So remember this: your own opinion of a new feature (one I might add that they aren't charging extra for) isn't the be-all and end-all of the argument. Personally, I probably won't have much interest in them but I am not everyone. Neither are you.

I see people making an argument for lower-tier battlegrounds by stating that newer players should be able to enjoy these, and that by restricting BGs only to the highest level players would "scare" away new players, possibly those on their trial or in their first months of the game.

I challenge this argument - if BGs were introduced to lower tiers, wouldn't at least a few of us stomp around them in our twinked up, level locked alts? In fact, on blue servers where complete level locking can be achieved, people would be able to create specific leveled characters particularly for the purposes of sitting in low level BGs and stomping the crap out of regular, new, "first time" players.

I think that a new player entering a low level battleground, getting thoroughly whacked by a twink in full MC/Masters, would be more put off this game than by not being allowed to enter in the first place. I guarantee every twinked up SK alt would be able to solo a group of first-time players in, say, the "T2" or "T3" BG that people are suggesting should exist.

First off, Bad title! Secondly, there are already a few threads around here for this discussion, no need to start new ones to get your point across
