I have had a small graphic issue reguarding my secondary weapon. Please keep in mind that i have had this issue on my previous computer as well. I have transfered no components from my computer, and am having the issue on my brand new one. I haven't been able to find anyone that is having the same issue. I have the graphics set to maximum, Tried reinstalling eq2, downloading driver updates both in general and special ones for eq2, tried downloading directx9 several times..i cant find anyone that can fix this problem, so finally decided to post here in hopes of finding that rare genius that can fix my extremely small but extremely annoying issue.

So.. here it is. When i log in, everything is as should be, no issues, no bugs. However, as soon as i go to draw my weapons, the issue occurs. My Secondary weapon appears to lose its front skin, and almost appears transparent. This is a problem i have been having for months now and cant seem to cure it. Whenever i zone, or re-equip the item, the bug goes away until i draw my weapons again. It is only the secondary weapon that does this, the primary one remains intact. It happens with any seconday weapon i put on, and happens on all of my characters, and all other characters i can see.

Here are some screen shots. The First four are of the weapon looking as it should, without graphic issues before drawing them out.

http://i50.tinypic.com/2ik6wxt.jpg

http://i48.tinypic.com/2cii73p.jpg

http://i46.tinypic.com/14wf1hz.jpg

http://i50.tinypic.com/2aaip2v.jpg

The next 4 are taken after i have drawn my weapon and resheathed them. This is the problem im having.

http://i45.tinypic.com/2rw8ai9.jpg

http://i50.tinypic.com/nq8qwi.jpg

http://i46.tinypic.com/2n0lzx5.jpg

http://i50.tinypic.com/opmjiq.jpg

Please, if anyone knows whats wrong with my client please let me know. I have tried for a long time to diagnose this and i can't find a cure. Look forward to responses, thank you in advance to anyone that can lend a hand.

Does anyone even read these? heh

I've never seen this problem before. Most likely its a strange combination of hardware, software and graphics settings.

Do you have another computer you can log in and see if it happens for you?

Can you please post your DXDiag text so we can see your system?

You say you have the graphic settings set to maximum. Have you tried tweaking the settings?

The glitch where your offhand weapon's textures are inverted has been around since the Tyrant update. Every weapon I ever wield in my offhand that can be visibly sheathed always looks like this as well.

I figured they'd fix it eventually, but then again as a ratonga, I'm used to unfixed graphical glitches like that and my hands clipping through my legs; tails not being animated; hands not having animations in /mood afraid / angry, and so on.

(though for fun, if you have this glitch, look at an off-hand equiped wrench, it's completely M.C. Escher-like!)

This happens on my computer as well, Windows Vista 64 bit, Ati Radeon 3200 HD graphics, Amd Athlon x2 2.1 ghz. If this also is what is applying to Aurelis's pages in her book disappearing, then I would assume it is not a personal based bug and was more to do with the game, as I can see her pages missing, and she can see mine and or my offhands, unless of course we happen to have the same setup... but that would seem unlikely. I can post a diag later on too.

I have the same problem, always with off-hand. I first noticed it with the appearance axe from Hedge Hollow, but it may have started earlier. Seems like the textures on the weapon just flip sides.

I haven't noticed it recently, so it might have gone away with my latest graphics driver update.

Will check and post a dxdiag if it's still happening.

Never posted a dxdiag before, so this may be more information than your looking for. It's clearly a more common problem than Rothgar appreciated, and one for his tech guys I would have thought. It would be nice to know if they are aware of it.

Does the tech team look at these forums? and if so do they take problems they see and work on them?

Honestly, with the number of people reporting this and the fact that it is happening to one person across multiple systems, I would think that this is a game bug and not a technical problem. If you can, please use the /bug command so that we can set up a system to test and correct this problem.

Anyone from Tech able to confirm this is being looked at?

I'm having the EXACT same issue as the OP.. Strangely enough I noticed it on my Greenmist katana too.. Not saying it's only the greenmist, I can see it on many different weapons, but on the broker I can cause it with ANY katana type 1h in secondary.. I also have a friend who has it happpen with his soulfire axe thingie.. don't remember the name.. Also oddly enough, I didn't see the bug with his axe, and he didn't see it with my sword.. Could it be a racial / weap combo? No idea.. Just a gee whiz and hope it can be fixed soon.. I know appearances aren't the most important issue, but it's almost impossible to ignore, you see your fingers through your sword hilt where the clipping would normally be hidden by the nearside polygons.. for anyone who can't really understand what we're describing, look straight up at they sky in 3rd person view, until you can see up your character's leg on the inside, you see the backward graphics on the inside of your character.. That's what our offhand weapons look like in normal view.. Always 1/2 gone and inside out.. Again, not a HUGE gamekilling issue, but the Greenmist timeline is a pain in the butt to finish.. It's a shame I can't see the darned thing..

Thanks to the devs who are working on this one...

EQ2 is a great game and we all appreciate your efforts.

Update: I've heard it rumored that this issue is expected to be fixed by the time the expansion launches.. Let's hope...
