Recruit a Friend emails are being sent with inoperable links...at least the last few people I sent them to are reporting this. I believe they were all using webmail but still...if you can't even send out workable links for this promo do you really expect it to produce reasonable results?

note:

A. I tested one myself and the links were indeed inoperable. I had to view the source of the page and search for the http link in order to find it, which of course 99% of people would even know about.

B. If an EQ2 subscriber logs in to station, goes to EQ2 players and follows the link to the RAF page, you can scroll all the way down and see the status of your invites...if you click on the person's email address in the column labeled "Trial Link" it opens a pop up with the http link to their invite acceptance page.

Problems

1. This doesn't work as intended

2. This process requires extra investigation, diagnosis and follow up from the current subscriber in order for the result to be positive. (most people simply won't bother)

3. When recruiting people from this program through an external forum etc. we are first asking a complete stranger to give us their e-mail address, then (if the eq2 subscriber actually follows through with step B. above) we have to go back after the fact and send them an additional link after the initial email has failed. This makes us look shady and I wouldn't be suprised if that might be enough to scare them off from even bothering with the program.
