I am level 12 Paladin. What type of gear should I be looking to acquire or crafting?

honestly.... have fun with your first few levels and figure most of it out for yourself. Ideally mastercrafted, but treasured and handcrafted will do for each tier for a long time. Your n00b levels are times to make mistakes

I really just stick with a mix treasured gear and whatever legendary gear I get until level 52, then I start looking into getting full mastercrafted set. Those lower levels you'll level pretty fast and it's not really worth the hassle to shell out money on items or rares to make or buy the mastercrafted.

Thanks for the response. I am examining my gear and I am still wearing level 1 to 5 gear.

What is a good resource on the web for Paladins? I am trying to decide which stats I should focus on when choosing reward gear.

STR? STA? WIS? INT? or AGI?

it doesn't really matter all that much in the earlier levels. Have a read though the forums when you have a change.. here and... elsewhere. but truefully its betetr you find out a lot for yourself. A simple hovering the mouse over items/stats/skills tells you 90% of what you need to know.

I thought I read somewhere you can reset your points. Where or whom do you ask to reset? And how long do you have to wait until you can reset again? Is there a monetary cost and does it go up the more time you reset?

is it possible to set your xp slider to zero adventure xp and 100% AA xp?

What is the max AA points per level? IE I am now level 17 and have 7 AA points can I gain a max of 17 AA points or is it higher?

If you play on any of the non-pvp servers then yes you can set your aa slider to 100%. On the pvp servers we can only get 50% combat xp - aa. As for aa per level you are allowed to spend 1.5 times aa to your level although you can have more aa's than that. If you are say level 20 you are allowed to spend 30aa's but you could have 35 aa's. Once you get to level 70 the 1.5times limit is lifted and you'll be able to spend all of those surplus aa's (if you have any).

Gear wise your a tank so basic tank ruling is getting as much health as possible, mitigation and avoidance. Stats wise well STA increases health pool, STR increases how hard you hit as well as power pool. AGI increases your avoidance. INT will increase your spell damage and WIS will help increase your resists and some of your power pool. It is all about balancing your stats so you can stay alive, keep agro and where possible dps. On top of all that you will find gear that has + to spell, combat arts and heal crits, + haste or attack speed, + dps, + to spell damage and to combat art damage. There are also + to defence and + to parry to look out for. These kind of extra's are not so easy to find lower teirs but they will become more evident in the higher and end game levels.

Depending on your play style then the gear you get and use will be directly affected by this. If your planning on seein as much of the game content as possible then it would be worth getting master crafted gear as well as adepting your abilities if not master them. Upgrading master crafted armor and weapons can be an expensive business as well as getting all adept 3's so it is worth thinking about leveling your toon as a crafter to either make the gear your self or to have him as a crafter to make items to sell to fund your adventuring. I think every server has specific rades that do well and have good profit margins etc and that also veries from teir to teir so it is not always easy to gauge at low level what will bring you in money when you get to t7 or t8. Unfortunatly you will need the help of an Armorer, Weaponsmith, Jewler, Alchy and Woodworker to get all the items and gear you'll need for your travels. Getting in a friendly/established guild that have people happy to craft items for you can be a real benefit not only on your pocket, but for people to group with and feed off of their experience and knowledge. I know within my guild we have a few people with crafters that have max level and are happy to craft items for guildies at cost price although you will have to provide the rare.

One thing i did remeber, when it came out, was that the quest lines in TD had some very good treasured jewlery that was better at the time than MC. So much so it was better in some ways than the 22 MC items. If you have not doe so it is worth checking out those quests

Good luck on playing your Pally!

Hey thank you Bazill for your very indepth and helpful post.

What AA line would work the best? I saw the jousting line and really like the idea of charging into battle on a "horse". Is that even possible?

Just got into a guild last night but not raid centric which is good. I don't plan to raid for awhile. I would like to group, see the game and do some crafting.

Thank you.

Yeah i think it's my PVP server restrictions that are only allowing the 1.5 times AA to my level. If i'm right then on the PVE servers you can spend all that you aquire. We're not allowed to lvl lock and amass and spend max AA untill lvl 70 on PVP due to new players getting ganked all the time.

As for AA specs i know Boli made a good post here http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=458663

You should be able to claim the respec cards from your vetran rewards that allows you 5 free respecs so if you try a spec and it dosn't work out you can respec the tree 5 times before it starts to cost you. Although you won't really need it so much low level, once you start getting into the higher levels it is worth getting an AA mirror for your house so you can switch between 2 specs.

Sorry the respecs cards are from the NPC in the cities that do the respecs, i'm not sure if the guildhall amenity offers them on the 1st respec or not.
