Hello,

I'm starting a bruiser toon and I remember that, long time ago, there was a possibility to use no weapon (unarmed).Typically for low levels, this was giving the equivalent to fabled weapons.

Does it still exist ?Is there any specific AA to take ? (I heard about the STR line but see nothing specific in the STR AAs)

Thanks for your help.

The strength line was revamped to no longer require the brawler to be unarmed. I don't believe going unarmed is really a practical choice any more, I would be surprised if level appropriate vendor weapons gave more damage than going unarmed. I cannot however, state this for certain.

Its correct that once you had to be unarmed to be able to use the STR line to the fullest..

They changed this, and there is no longer any reason to unarmed anymore.

it is not optimal but it is viable. you can find better weapons but i found myself until about level 20 using unarmed because no good weapons dropped.

Leveling unarmed is viable through early 60's. What happens is that at every level your fists skill goes up, increasing your damage a little bit. Mastercrafted weapons will be better than your fists at the level they are first equippable, and worse than them 3 or 4 levels later. So if you buy weapons at 42, at 45 you'll be better off wielding barehands again. The primary benefit to having some weapons around is that we burn through pow pretty quickly, so you might want some that are pow proc adorned. Otherwise I'd recommend not worrying about weapons too much until you hit 62, then buy some good MC weapons.
