Hey everyone!

I've decided to take another look at EQ2 after the (all-in-one) TSO expansion was up for sale on Steam. Back before I quit, I had an Inquisitor in the 20ies, mostly because I loved the class name and the concept of a healer/debuffer.

Now, returning, I've started another Inquis (wanted to have an Arasai one ) and since I'm so badly out of touch with a game I didn't even get a good grasp on back then, I do have a couple of questions:

1.) is the Inquis a decent class for casual soloing and maybe occasional grouping?

2.) I figured from reading posts here that I'll be heading towards a battle Cleric for soloing... but where would be a good point to start out? Concentrate on Cleric AAs first, or take a few Inquis AA attacks instead?

3.) What stats should I primarily focus on? They all seem somehow useful. This is very, very confusing

Anyway, thanks in advance

1. Yes, and yes. The Inquisitor may not kill as fast as the big dps classes, but with the combination of plate armor, debuffs and healing we are very efficient, steady soloers. Taking down yellow ^'s is pretty easy, and up to about blue ^^'s the same.

2. There is an excellent guide stickied above this for how to go about doing AA's. First thing to get is Yaulp, then move directly to the Battle Cleric line and start replacing your spells with CA's. Once Battle Cleric is done, then go back for your str/sta/agi lines.

3. Stats are discussed in that guide as well. This is the biggest drawback to the class imo, but basically you will be working towards 2 sets of gear: 1 that is solo/dps focused, and 1 that is heal focused for groups. You don't have to do that of course, but to be truly at good at either of them you need a focused set of gear, not just a blend of both.

I've only been playing eq2 for about 3 months but have found it a fun class to play. Solo'ing is pretty easy, and in grouping seem to be pretty effective and desired. Can be the main healer, but I've also found playing in a group as a secondary healer while adding dps/debuffing seems to be good as well and definitely makes for a pretty durable group.

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, I've read the sticky guide a bit further after I've posted this thread. Skimmed over it at first and thought it to be a mere skill listing. Kind of felt stupid after realising it was far more than that. Oh well, it's definitely a great read and kind of set me up for my way to glory

Edit: Horrible, horrible typos

Since you've been out of the loop for a while, I'd suggest that you start a brand new character. Old characters will be AA deficient by today's standards and 20th is achieveable in a single afternoon via the Timorous Deep starting zone chain. Also it will help you learn the game again from the ground up, which is a good thing since so much has changed over the years. The EQ2 pop up bubble tool tip when you start out are actually decent information.
