Hi, I've hit 30 so figured that its time to start the portal quest. I harvest the blessed bush from Antonica Druid Circle and gain exp from it with a message telling me that I can port to the ring. I checked my speel book.. nothing... so after reading through quest guide, I went to the portal trainer at North Qeynos... erm... no quest.. nothing.. But.. I can buy off "Circle of Growth" from him for 18 gold.

Do I really have to buy that? Or am I doing anything wrong?

Once you get the spell though, you'll still have to go to each of the druid rings to get access to them. Now you just don't have to run back and forth to kelethin or wherever your teleporter trainer is to activate that portal spell like you did before.

In regards to the consolidation of portals into one spell... Someone in my guild mentioned that they made a new character and that character was able to travel to Antonica through a player's druid ring without having been there to pick up the blessing. Has anyone else experienced this?

One will go to CL, the other will go to ANT. Neither require a blessing.

There is another portal by sorcerer's that will get you to ANT or CL without having to pick up a blessing first.

The both look similar to the druid's portal with slight graphic differences, so they can be mistaken for one another.

All druid portals whether a gh amenity or a druid character require a blessing from the ring itself in order to use it.

Someone was saying in 1-9 last night that when the halas patch goes live, we won't need to harvest shrubs from the rings anymore.

I considered having to earn the right to use a portal as an access quest. I am sorry the requirement for completing access quests are being removed from the game; first access quests to different areas (Zek comes to mind - and yes, it can still be done, it just isn't mandatory), then places like VP and now just exploring new places (which is how you basically had to get the shrubs for the druid rings).

I am sure, however, there will be a lot of folks who like this change. And then again, think of all the shinies and disco folks will miss while zipping across Norrath! Moar for me!
