Melodic or chain xegonite armor?

<p>My ranger is in a progression guild and will be level locked at 70 for a long while. I'm planning on getting mastercrafted armor; is melodic or regular chain better (int or sta)? Or should I get two sets: melodic for grouping and chain for soloing? Or is there some other armor commonly available on the broker I should consider over either? Thanks for your help.</p>

<p>melodic all the way I would think.  If you are soloing you shouldn't be having mobs hitting you anyway so the extra hp from the sta shouldn't be an issue</p>

<p>Thank you. Mobs do hit me (especially when I take on groups), but if the extra damage from int is significant I'd rather have that.</p>

So you better not level lock at 70. lock at 72</p>

<p>STA is worthless, the amount of HP gained from it is negligable.</p>

<p>I had this conversation on AB today in crafting (!!) channel and seems to be a lot of confusion out there.</p><p>As a Ranger your primary stats is STR (increases your DPS) and INT (increases poison damage). The devs did not change this in the recent patch - they just changed Spell Crit from influencing Posion crit.</p><p>STA is not worth it as the increase in hit points is nothing compared to a mobs damage...unless you are in the habit of always surviving fights with 2 HP left...although if you increase your DPS maybe this wouldn't happen in the first place, so STR/INT still applies.</p><p>AGI is only good for power and avoidance. You should never be running out of power in the first place, and avoidance is similar to STA in that's it not going to save you so don't bother.</p><p>WIS is as ever is pointless.</p><p>So, it's Melodic armor all the way.</p><p><img src="/eq2/images/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" /></p>

<p>With the recent expansion, both melodic and chain armor give exactly the same stat boosts: strength, stamina, and agility. Feysteel chainmail boots have better resists than melodic; at other levels the two are exactly identical.</p>
