View Full Version : Complete Collection code: First a generic error, now "already used"

Hello,

With three hours remaining on my 14-day trial, I attempted to apply my retail EQ2 Complete Collection code to my account. This referred me to a generic error page (please try again later). Attempting to apply the code again now returns the following error:

You have already used this Activation Code. Please enter a new code or contact Technical Support.

Nothing was applied to my account and the last hours of my trial continue to tick down. It seems that the first error invalidated my code while no account update occurred.

Are there any shortcuts to get this fixed? I'd really like to play this weekend, but it seems I'm going to need support intervention to get my code applied.

Thanks!

Update: logging in revealed that the code had done *something*; I could now trade and use chat channels, despite still being on "trial time." After reading some threads about people having issues with resubscribing that were fixed after manually entering payment information, I decided to try this, as well. No dice. My credit card was charged immediately and I was given neither TSO nor the other bonuses from the Complete Collection (though I did oddly get the 500 station cash).

I'm guessing I'll have to contact support on Monday to try to have them straighten this out. Right now, I effectively spent $20 on an activation code that gave me 500 station cash and no game--I hope that this won't be difficult for support to remedy.

Summary of events, all times in PST:

Began trial on 12/19 (ended tonight, 1/1, at 11:59pm)

Today (1/1), ~8:45pm, put in new, retail Complete Collection activation code

First attempt: error page, "please try again later"

Subsequently: "This code has already been used. Please put in another code or contact support"

This botched activation "untrialed" my account (trade + chat), but did not activate TSO or any other CC bonuses outside of the 500 station cash

Later, ~9:30pm, input credit card information

Immediately charged, no time applied, no TSO/related benefits

Seems to have only applied the "free game with purchase" promotion advertised on the launcher

If it's relevant, I had the EQ2 launcher on the login screen (that reports hours remaining) when I input the activation code. I have a difficult time believing that this would result in EQ2 account entries being locked to produce my error, but you never know.

As a recommendation for the administrators, I earnestly request implementing a transactional system for code activation that rolls back upon failure. This kind of issue should not be difficult to avoid from a technological standpoint.

Based on your description, it sounds like the key added correctly despite the error, though the previous trial seems to have messed up the trial time from your purchase. I'm sure you've probably contacted support already, but please give us a call if not.
