Perhaps before you roll one of the most OP classes you should atleast learn the game first. You may get spoiled.

Essentially, you reflect physical damage back at your enemy.

Riposte is a fencing term, it designates a quick attack made after parrying an opponent.

Surprisingly, it's the same thing in EQ2. A Riposte is an opportunity to attack your opponent that can only occur after you Parry a blow. It's all quite automatic, but that's what it is.

For all intents and purposes a Riposte is a "Critical Parry", after parrying you have a chance to automatically attack (for low damage), some gear has +% Chance to Riposte (which actually raises parry by the same %)

The Shadowknight's Furor ability grants an absolute 100% Chance to Parry / Riposte (parry all attacks, riposte if the target is in the auto attack arc).

Generally though, +Riposte Damage? Not worth it, it'd only be a few dozen points per riposte and ripostes only happen if you're tanking. Stick with the Shield abilities (Dark Knight's Protection, Phalanx), they make it harder to die afterall.
