I know that you can avoid the broker fee by buying directly from a residence it's being sold in.

But, say you're a Q and you want to buy something a freep is selling with his house in Freeport, you can't go in there, you'll get carnage flagged. Er, I've also heard you'll be bounced out the door, which is it?

if you can get to their house then you can buy the item, its not always easy at lower levels unless the person lives in the slums, but it is possible

There is access to all the city zones through the sewers both in qeynos and freeport, just take a bit of care to avoid guards and you can get to most residences easily. Hard one would be the magical housing inside Freeport library unless you can grey out the guards or invis.

Neriak is an exception to the rule, all the guards are like 84 Epic x4s. They dont see invis but obviously they must con orange to you or they will, so basically if you aint 80 you are screwed

The guards also have incredibly short agro leashes making it very easy to just run past them.

Um, am I missing something here. My guildies recently told me that I can't buy something from someone in Freeport, period.

But, I thought the reason the broker will have a higher commission is because you are buying from your/an enemy city, not that you couldn't buy it all. This also I wonder about, since if I click on my own item I put on the broker, I'm a Q and have to pay a 20% commission, I thought that's if I buy from Freeport.

There is a vetran reward item which reduces the fee by 50% for buyers, making it 10% and 20% respectively.

On a PvP server, you cannot trade directly with someone of a different alignment. This might also be true for buying from their home directly, I'm not sure.

Do the PVP Servers not have the black market broker?

What about the Courts in Maj'Dul, or Teren's Grasp or the docks on the Isla of Mara or the Moors of Ykesha near the main crafting area -- these all have paired brokers, good and evil -- do these not exist on PVP servers? You definitely pay more when buying from the opposite alignment).

I don't know, though, if that's still true.

There is the option of doing that quest but most people just use the Moors,Teren's Grasp, and Timorous Deep brokers.

Just make a alt in that city save you some greif.

I miss the separate aligned brokers. I have fond memories of buying up various root commodities from the qeynos broker and relisting for 4x the cost on the freeport side.
