New Highland Stalker mount. What About the old one?!

<p>So, there have been many posts about the Highland Stalker Mount in the video. So, we all agree it looks quite bad.</p><p>BUT, what about the old cat mount from a few years back? About when the asian dev team finished Fallen Dynasty (Adventure Pack), some screenshots emerged on the forums. A dev testing a new cat mount that was to be introduced, but never happened. Might have been from the test server, but not sure.</p><p>So, why the new silly model. <strong>Where is the old AMAZING looking cat mount?</strong></p><p>I will leave it to the community to find those old pics. They are around.</p>

<p>Well, I guess a few do like it. However, the forums have shown that most hate it.</p><p>Regardless, I hope someone can find the shots of the beta cat mount that never made it live (from about 2-3 years ago). Looked amazing and was far superior graphically. Texture, design, proportions, art relevance to existing content, etc.</p>

<p>Whats this "WE", got a mouse in your pocket. I like the Lynx.  Many things "I" would like changed, optimum word "I".  I speak for myself and no one else.  There is another thread for this topic allready, with the picture you are looking for, showed a dark elf on the female lion, and IMO (again mine) the Lynx looks better. Simple solution, you don't like the Lynx, don't buy the collectors edition, see problem solved. No one, even the Eeeeevvvvilllll SOE, is going to make you use it. Last time I checked the use of the Lynx was not mandatory or even required in order to play EQ2.</p>

<p>was that from "He-man's mount"? that big sabre tiger like?</p><p>yes, i do remember and watched, no it wasnt meant for Fallen Kingdom, it was added as free content, but it was shown for Feydwar, EoF, they just dropped, but you can see those tigers in butcherblock area.</p><p>they add griffin tower instead, i will have to look in island of Mara, it been awhile.</p>

<p>I saw the mount, and canceled my order for the collectors SF.</p><p>I wanted it for the mount, after seeing the mount, took me about 10 seconds to see I really hated how it looked. I was hoping for something alot cooler then that.</p><p>but then again, since my run speed is always over 70%, mounts are little more then appearance items for me. I do enjoy them, but I dont want to hate how it looks, and the highland stalker just was "thats it?" when I saw it.</p>

<p>I have wanted a cat mount ever since I saw a GM on one when DoF released.</p><p>How cool would it be having a ratonga on a cat mount. =D</p><p>After seeing this mount I was very very disapointed and kinda boggled why SoE wasted resourses making a new one when all they needed to do was release the old GM mount to the playerbase.</p><p>Not worth the 70 bucks for the special edition....I don't evne think I would use it if they gave it to me in the regular boxset.</p>

<p>The GM mount some folks are raving about was, imo, far too small in proportion to the rider and far too plain in appearance -- the same lioness illusion is commonly found in the game, which even further detracts from the uniqueness of the design as a mount. The lynx mount, both saddled and bare, has a sharp modern look that is unique and not overused -- I'm quite looking forward to replacing the worgs my Fae ride with the new mounts.</p><p>The forums have most definately NOT "shown that most hate it" -- the forums provide a sample of opinions from, at best, a very small sample of the playerbase. "Most" of the playerbase have not posted one way or the other on this topic. And since it's pretty unlikely to get a true majority opinion from the entire player population on this, WE will just have to put our faith in the design team to make something that looks nice <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  THEY play the game too, after all <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/e8a506dc4ad763aca51bec4ca7dc8560.gif" border="0" /></p>

I don't care for the lynx mount ether, however on the bright side SOE has stated that the collectors edition box set will be the ONLY lynx mount in game unlike the bear that came with the retail box then got recycled to death. With any luck the more "standard" mount for the expansion will have a closer resemblance to the lion mount from DOF. Despite the fact that I hate how the thing looks I will be keeping my preorder on the collectors edition box, a few years down the road it might be something fun to show the new people *shrug* the thing looks like a bobble head couch to me.... on a side note, I can only pray that we get a bit more variety out of our mounts this expansion rather than the same thing done over and over again with a different colored saddle/barding/armor. The last mount that I have seen(graphically speaking not stats) that wasn't from LoN that made me actually stop for a few seconds and thought it was actually kind of cool was the pack horse from the crafting tokens the rest of it has been kind of meh...
