Hello,

I just started playing this game about 3 weeks ago, my Templar is level 36 atm. I'm enjoying my Templar but I don't know if it's the type of class I want to play at 80. I've always played a healing class in most mmo's, including WoW. I always did end game raiding and healing and it's what I enjoyed. I don't know if i'm just getting sick of healing, or if it's the class i'm playing, but I don't get much enjoyment out of the Templar class, I log on and play with my wizard friend who is lvl 36 as well. We duo great together and can take most heroic mobs our lvl or higher pretty easily.

When I hop on my Ranger or Troubador I get a lot more enjoyment out of playing the class, it seems to be a lot more fun. My question is are Rangers really as bad as people make them out to be? I've been reading all the posts on the fourms saying Rangers are pretty much useless at end game for raiding, and most raiding guilds will not take them as there are other dps classes that are better over-all. I don't want to spend the next 4-6 months leveling and getting gear if i'm not going to be able to raid. I've always been in a raiding guild in every mmo i've played, and I want to do the same thing in EQ2. I'm not a big fan of soloing, i'll do it, but i'd much rather group or raid. Is there another class other then Ranger I should be looking at for raiding? Thanks for the help.

Rangers are lot of fun but plan on a lot of soloing. I have a raid slot in a guild that raids high end content as do other rangers. But getting into a high end raiding guild as a ranger is going to be a real problem if you are not there already. You don't see guilds recruiting a ranger you currently get more bang for the buck with other classes. It is also tough to get a into a group unless you are creating it yourself. Plate healers are always and have always been desired. Utility is the current rage.

Ok thanks. I'm in a high end raiding guild now, I think they already have 1-2 rangers that raid. The guild is called Leagues of The Extraordinary on the Permafrost server. They are a fairly large guild, and raid most end game content. I guess I need to make up my mind, it's really too bad more people don't like Rangers. I think the bad Ranger players out there really ruined things for the rest of us.

Where the class is T1 is in potential... potential is a two-edged sword.

Blaming the playerbase is not helpful, imo. I invite you to play the class and experience it first hand.
