I noticed that in this version there are stars in the skyboxes! Are there any star signs in EQ2?

Check out they gnome in Antonica (Beach near the back door to Stormhold) or Commonlands (Near the Docks) he has the quests that gets you the book (To be precise I think it allows you to buy it from the sage later on)

There are constellations in Norrath's sky, but nothing you can see or recognize in the game. The 999 year old port quest you're being recommended to go check out will tell you what they are.

There is also a red shiney quest that lands you a star-chart, I think its near the Swamp of No hope and Rillis with some going to Bathzid's watch.

As mentioned already, "Zapho's Guide to the Celestial Stars" (which can be read here at LoreLibrary.com, if you haven't gotten a copy in-game yet) cites some of the constellations as recognized by the gnomefolk, namely:

- Sprocketsnik's Tinkering- Glittering Gizmos- Minotaur's Horn- Meldrath's Fury- Cog of Cobbleknob- Clockwork MX- Magnificent/Malfunctioning Gadget

It also gives an interesting bit of vernacular: "Before measurements were standardized, folks used the Star of Ak'Anon to indicate levels of brighteness. 'That's a ten Star' meant an object was ten times as bright as the Star of Ak'Anon on a clear night."

The beginner quest is "The 999 Year Old Port" in either Antonica or Commonlands... click here and take your pick of zone! Also, "Bootstrutter's Trail Guide to Desert of Ro" is obtained during the last quest, so make sure to snag that while you're at work.

As far as other star-related books go... I'll try to think. Off the top of my head, I can't remember any others, but I'll do my best!

Sounds great if anyone else have more books related to astronomy or items that we can get ingame, just tell us

update: I've done the quest of the 999 years old port and so on, it was a nice and interesting quest to learn about constellations and stars in eq2.

the thing is, I've to read the book "Zapho's Celestial Guide To the Stars" inside of the journey at the sea, but its no-value no-zone, so I lost the book , is possible to get a ingame copy of that?

and at the end of the quest, we have to assault and rescue a pirate captain in a mysterious island, very pretty, and some gnome in there, give us a book about Desert of the Flames (that book I can keep, but no the other about stars and constellations)

any ideas?

Check out your hometown sage to pick up your very own copy -- 97% sure that's what you guys need to do. I'll remember to make a note of this on my list in a bit. Thanks for the info!
