Looking for any thoughts on where a 76 Inquisitor should be parsing against a test dummy. I did around 1k dps on one yesterday, until I ran out of power near the end and it dropped down to just under 500dps with melee only.

I'm wearing 72 MC armor and a mix of quest/legendary gear in the other slots. Using a MC 2 hander that has a rating of 99.9dps I think. Around 110ish AA's, including Battle Cleric w/ all CA's max'd and str/sta/agi lines done. Also have the Fanaticism AA to eliminate stifle. MC at 104%, DA around 56% I think and haste at 36. Don't know offhand what my CA and spell mods are from gear. Just started working TSO to get towards Litany of Combat. Working on shards now and hopefully will have enough to get both sets of T1 armor as soon as I hit 80.

Does that parse sound about right for lvl/aa's or am I off? I don't think there's much more I can do in the way I chain my CA's and spells (making sure to not interfere with auto attack delay) so if I'm low I'm guessing it's due to gear/weapon.

As always, all thoughts appreciated!

Sounds about right for your gear and level.

I'm running about 110% double attack and around 114% crit. Most of that is from AA's. EQ2 players happens to be showing Dennika in her dps gear atm.

If you really want to dps you need to focus on STR gear, the DPS aa's and getting the slowest swinging 2 hander you can find with the biggest range of damage on it.

I'm using the Thex Mallet at the moment, it's a reward for a heritage quest that starts in CoA. You can solo almost all of it.

Auto attack is like 45% of my inquisitors dps. Get yourself an auto-attack timer and learn to time your CA's and Spells so they *never* interrupt your swings. You cannot use the animations of your character to do this accurately.

After the expansion, with its stat consolidation, you will want to stack WIS for healing, melee and spell damage. So don't invest too much time and coin in STR gear since it's coming like next week. On the Beta server Dennika is wearing her healing gear from live and does about the same dps as she does in STR gear on live.

Hope that helps.

As soon as the expansion hits, you'll see a jump in DPS. I'm a raid geared/200AA inquisitor, and when i put on spare "dps" gear against a training dummy right now, I might hit 3k or so if all goes perfectly. But my 81 copy on Beta consistently (201 AA) in the same healing gear I use right now is parsing about 5.2k.

It'll really depend on your gear and number of aa's whether you see a boost in dps or not when the expansion happens. Someone who plays as a pure healer now will probably see a rather significant boost in dps. Someone who plays as a pure dps now will probably not see a boost in dps unless they have a full set of "healing" gear in the bank that gives them as much (or more) WIS than they currently have STR.

So what happens if you have a set of both T2 healing gear and T2 dps gear? Will the healing gear now do as much dps as the dps set because of the extra wis? Or will the dps gear still be better but just not by as much?

Would suck to think I wasted all that time getting the shards for the second set.

On beta, my T3 dps set has had its str and wis stats flipped, so the T2 dps set may not be a waste.

My questions are this, do you debuff w/ Condemned?? Thats an extra 15% dps.

Do you plan on using Fanaticism?? It will be changed to a "buff", will not penalise healing, but will eat power. That will also add at least 15% dps for you, since you haste is kinda low.

The expansion will also allow you to take our punishment line of spells and make you a beast.

All being said in crappy gear on live I was hitting 5k dps, at level 90 against level 86^^^ names in beta, I pulled 10k and healed over 3k heals per second.

If you live to solo, you will be wowed by this expansion.

Inhumanus

My dps has gone up a lot since I made the OP.

I'm now full T2, have the Thex Mallet, and about 175aa. I'm doing about 3k on a parse dummy and that will change once I get to the stance AA's.

I'll be curious to see the changes in AA's. I have an AA mirror now, but I haven't actually done a dps and heal spec yet. I've now gotten to where I'm over cap in MC and DA so I could cut those AA's back and use them somewhere else, and there are some things in the Inquisitor tree I would tweek each direction for healing vs dps. At this point though I'm just going to wait for the expansion and see what things look like before I respec.

I'd be curious to see what changes people are going to be making with AA's. Maybe I'll start a new thread for that.
