So not to long ago I started a Pally on the PvP servers. Seems like tanks are always in high demand for running instances and zones and what not but my problem is I've always played scouts so I'm a little out of my element with a tank. I just dinged lvl 31 last night. I've been using the mastercrafted devout gear, a one handed sword and a tower shield. I had previously been using int/wis jewelery but am thinking about switching back to str/sta/agi jewelery.

So the help I need is if you guys see anything wrong with my gear set up but also what is the best AA for PvP. I will be soloing almost 100% while questing. I went down the Int line for the spell crit and some heal crit but to be honest I have no idea what AA's work well for a pally.

It would be greatly appreciated any advice any of the PvP pallies out there could give me. Thanks!! I guess PvE Pallies are ok too ;p.

I'm not pvp, but since nobody's answered, I can say the strength endline ability and spell crit are pretty nice. Offensively smite evil; defensively heroism, and then you can work on either trample or divine aura.

If you want to know how the spell crits are working for you, I would suggest getting a parser and looking at the data after you finish a session. Spell crits should apply to all your spells and procs.

Also try to maintain a good 2h weapon and a good 1h+shield.

Some other thread a few days ago debated the melee / spell crit for paladins. I think they said melee crit>spell crit early/mid levels. I haven't played my pvp paladin in years. I noticed they changed how some of the AA work. For example, Joust never worked the way it does now (looks like it works like Sonic Fist, teleporting you to your target, which sounds like a great pvp feature). That other thread was also debating needing INT for spell crits (I thought the devs were going to make wis for paladins/priests determine spell crits some time ago?) for a paladin. If so then you would need this for Smite Evil, etc.

I think if you are solo you want the old "axe" str line for haste, maybe some down other line for melee crit, and others down for some spell crit. Past the 50/50 barrier then you can fill more in whatever...DA, group buffs line leadership/etc. It all depends on what you want to do.
