Ok finally got lvl 75 and am able to start doing shard runs with my guild. So my question revolves around what I should go for in shard armor once I reach 80. From what I've read, it sounds like most Inq carry around two sets of armor- a solo dps set and a group/raid healing set. Being that I need to upgrade in everything, what are people's thoughts on the best way to proceed with shards:

Focus on 1 set (dps or healing) and get both T1 and T2 completely done so that I am very effective in one of the two roles, solo or grouping. Then, work on the other set.

Get both the healing set and dps set completely done for T1 first, then start working on T2 for both sets.

Get a few pieces of healing gear and a few dps in T1 (enough to make a full set combined), then get another mixed set for T2, then go back and fill in the missing pieces later.

Something else entirely.

Thoughts/feedback appreciated. I guess I'm leaning toward #3 as it improves me in both group and solo the fastest and I can work on specializing to each one later.

Fyi I'm in all MC armor atm and still working on improving my non-visible slots. I do probably an equal amount of soloing and grouping. Raiding may be an option at some point, but that's farther down the road.

There is a night and day difference between a T1 set of shard armor and a set of various armor pieces. (In this instance, junk can refer to 77th MC, 77th Kunark class armor, or a lot of the nice Kunark Legendary armor drops.) I'd honestly suggest that you get a T1 set of both ASAP before you start to worry about T2.

Now if you're in a guild where you're always joined at the hip with a dps player whenever you're online, then you might be able to get away with not having at least a T1 dps set for soloing. But otherwise I'd consider it to be a wise investment.

However since you mainly get shards from grouping, I would advise you to focus on getting your healer set up to T2 before the dps set. If you were to consistently gray shard zones to catch up on shards this late in the expansion, then I might advise you to get the dps plate up to T2 as your first priority. But that's a special set of circumstances.

Yeah just started doing the gray shard zones once I got 75 and looks like that's going to be the bread and butter to try and get caught up on gear.

Sounds like getting both T1 sets is first priority then I'll make the decision as to which direction to go for T2.
