I want to know how we are seen by the rest of Norrath. Is it expected that we are the healer in the group?

yes but when the group or tank isnt taking much dmg, then we're expected to dps, otherwise ur sitting there twiddling ur thumbs.

The decision is yours, not the group's or that of the general population of Norrath. If you want to be a healer, then strengthen your healing abilities and when there's nothing to heal, throw some damage-dealing spells at whatever the tank's holding. If you prefer to be a mage who can occasionally heal, then put your resources into damage-dealing and only use your healing abilities when you're desperate. If you mostly like one but sometimes prefer the other, get a mirror so you can switch between the two.

What do you mean by mirror?

Tradeskillers with 40k faction with their city's tradeskill society can get a recipe for a mirror that allows you to store an AA spec. You put the mirror in your house and can use it to swap out two different AA specs. The semi-rare item that is used to make the mirror is the reflective shard. The mirror is lore-heirloom I believe, so if you do not have the faction on one of your crafters you need to have someone else commission it for you.

(Since I've answered a similar question on the Inq forums, see the copy and paste below.)

Here's a crash course on the mirrors.

Item: Mirror of Reflected Achievements (commission crafted item)

Crafted by: Any crafter who has a high enough crafter level and crafter society faction to buy / use the recipe.

Crafting Rare Required: Smoldering Reflective Shard (On LDL, they're running about 3-4p these days.)

How does it work?: By clicking on this mounted house item, the mirror basically stores a photocopy of your current AA build. During the saving process, you assign a file name for it. After saving your existing set up for the 1st time, go to an Achievement (AA) Counselor to reset your AA build (as desired). Once you've got a new build that you like, go back to the mirror and click on it again. The mirror will then save your 2nd build and your 1st build will now be loaded onto your character. From this point on, you can click on the mirror to switch back and forth between these two builds.

FYI: The mirror only saves x1 AA build in it. Also SOE fixed it so that you can only get use out of a single AA mirror at a time. (In the past, people could once have multiple mirrors. But this loophole no longer exists.)

Simply speaking, we are both. We have the ability to put out decent amounts of DPS while pumping vast amounts of hitpoints into our group. Nice example is the 'fire room' in POF. I can put out 4000 HPS and 4000-6000 DPS at the same time (and I have pretty crappy gear).

Ardra
