Are two handed weapon viable?

<p>Greetings everyone,</p><p>I recently got an amazing 2-handed sword and went on to buy a pomel upgrades and I really like it.  The high damage and long swing time seem to work well allowing me to get spells off inbetween swings keeping my power from draining to fast but keeping my DPS strong.</p><p>However looking over things I realize with a sword shield I could adorn both items for more bonuses then just my sword alone and that I'm loosing out on some of my class abilites.  Several AA's even are specifically focused around the shield.  While I really like my sword I'm concerned I'm trading off to many class feature for a more stable DSP.  It isn't a big deal now since I'm only in my low 20's but I don't want to be gimped when I get high enough level to raid with my guild, particularly since the shield increases my defense and consiquently my ability to tank.</p><p>So I was wondering is 2h a viable choice for late game content or is the shield just too good to put down?</p>
