I can get the launcher up, it updates but when I click 'start' I get a black screen. Same for my husband although he has a different machine. We have recently been playing Aion so we know that all our drivers are up to date and functional. I have posted some of my latest DXDiag here:-

Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1 (6001.vistasp1_gdr.090302-1506) Language: English (Regional Setting: English)System Manufacturer: Dell Inc.
Oh yes, and I ran as administratot which meant the game didn't even get to the black screen before giving up. I also tried compatibility mode Windows XP but nothing.

Downloaded the old launcher and the trial works fine. Having read back the previous posts and relised that the new launcher is apparently technically a beta which explains a lot. Wish that was made clear before installation as it would have saved me the trouble.

Right click on the program launch icon2. Left click on "Properties".3. In the new window that pops up click on the "Compatibility" tab.4. In the "Compatibility Mode" area check the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"5. In the drop down list make certain that "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" is selected.6. Under "Privilege Level" make certain that the box next to "Run this program as administrator" is checked.7. Click on "Apply" then click on "Ok".8. Right click on the icon and select "Run as Administrator"

Let us know if you are still experiencing the problem at that point.

That's from another thread.

Seems lots of people get stuck on this (usually on weekends) and its very handy information. I have already posted it several times.

Thanks!

I understand you posting it several times (obviously none where I could find it on Saturday) but as you can read from my last post, I fixed my issue by downloading the old launcher on Saturday and using that. Perhaps posting yourself a new thread to TSR-DanielH would be more relevant so he is more likely to see it?

Thanks anyway, lets hope a seperate sticky is put up so others like me can actually find the useful info they need instead of trawling through masses of posts.

It would be his thread to deal with changes, think that would make more sense to him.

I still hope they will make it so there is some way to switch back and forth between the patchers.

And as for posting it somewhere you couldn't find them ... I often can't find my own darn posts about this! I ended up bookmarking it, but now it comes up so often I just rather they sticky it.

Switching between patches would make a lot of sense. *crosses fingers*

I get a message saying "EQ2 Client Application has stopped working".

I have looked on here to see if any one else has had the same problem.

I play Lineage 2 and have no problems logging in there to play.

Hitting on 13 days left on trial.

System Manufacturer: Dell Inc.
I have tried many things to get this game to work. I even downloaded the station launcher that took several hours to download and still can't get into the game. I looked around the boards to see if anyone else had the same problem and didn't see, or notice if anyone had the same issue.

I have tried to get in through the game icon in my folder and I still get the same message about the application.

Have about 10 days left of the game. Give it another day I guess.
