As a matter of interest apart from the style of play why play a bruiser it seems that a sk can do everything a bruiser can do but better? only played up to 40 but that is what it looks like atm

The only thing an sk cannot do as good as the bruiser is feign death flop for quest items and shinnies. Other than that sk if played properly will out perform a bruiser except on single target dps as long as buffs, skill, and gear are close to equal.

Bruiser are still good tanks. Yes bruisers do lack group utility but bruisers were never known for that anyway. Tank & dps is what they should be good at. They just have issues in aoe aggro and that has lead many people to believe that bruisers suck. If bruisers ever get better aoe aggro they will do just as good as an sk.

Bruisers (and monks) are currently underrated because TSO is so group mob heavy. Brawlers don't have the AOE power compared to most other tanks. They CAN tank most of TSO but it is more difficult than a SK click this ability and you win, they actually have to think. The other thing bringing brawlers down is strikethrough which doesn't allow them to avoid and as avoidance tanks they just get destroyed. Pre-TSO bruisers will do just as well as an SK at tanking and by the time you get to TSO you should have the knowledge and skill to tank that too.
