I was wondering if anyone had a good source to find how the Betrayal quest initially played out (or just has a really really good memory). I betrayed some time in 2005 I think, shortly before leaving the game for like 4 years, but I don't remember many of the details. All I know is the current quest looks really unfamiliar and I'm pretty sure it was Lucan himself who killed you at the end.

Here's a decent writeup I found, but I'm looking for more NPC dialogue or at least a detailed description of what's going on:http://www.tentonhammer.com/node/54447

I've checked my Quest Journal, but although I see a lot of 2004/2005 quests, none of them seem to be related to Betrayal. I don't think they would have been removed either, since there are a lot of quests there that are no longer in the game.

Here's what I remember, going from Freeport to Qeynos.

You're contracted to kill Lucan by sneaking into a room in the castle. You kill one of his personal bodyguards, and when you enter the room where Lucan is waiting, he's waiting there along with an assassin and the guy who contracted you. Turns out it was a ploy by Lucan to root out traitors to Freeport and dispatch. The assassin stabs you.

You wake up in the graveyard in commonlands with the assassin greeting you. She mentions she had to poison you to make it look convincing, and explains that she is actually a spy for Qeynos. The poison is so effective however that it leaves you in a weakened state as if you died (aka: you leave behind an old spirit shard, which is no longer in the game), and it leaves you weakened for 3 real life days.

You're told to head to Antonica to gain trust with Qeynos. In order to gain the trust you have to kill 500 gnolls and 5 notorious gnolls. When you do this you perform more errands to prove you're trustworthy, including killing a traitor to the crown. Finally, you are granted Qeynos citizenship by Queen Antonia's very own father (or was it stepfather?).

I never actually did the Qeynos faction/citizenship part until I came back earlier this year, long after it had been changed...and it kills me that I missed the chance to see Antonia's relative, whoever it may have been. That would have been cool. Oh well, thanks again, that helped a lot.

He's standing outside of the scarecrow field by the bear canyon in Antonica. That's where you would have met him if you completed the quest. He's also now standing outside of the Concordium in South Qeynos. He was involved in a quest last summer that lead into the current expansion.

Vishra, huh? Neither one of them seem to be too talkative, but I guess it's cool to know. Thanks.

Yeah he doesn't talk unless you are in the quests he was involved in.

Vishra's her Father - at least that's what he implies in the quest text at the time.

I know it took longer but I'm an old fogey and miss the old betrayal quest /sigh

Update :

Some of the quest dialogue is here :

http://www.eiwyn.arcanya.com/

Awesome, thanks for that link. I miss that too...felt like decisions *mattered* a lot more back then.
